Big construction learning for future builders today 🏗️
Campers at the Make a Mess Summer Camp with the Lincoln Children's Museum got a hands-on look at Project "O" Street.
They explored how construction teams bring big projects to life, from planning and design to rebuilding streets, sidewalks, and utilities. Kids even got to mix and make their own concrete and take home a cup as part of the activity.
Through interactive learning, campers saw how each step of the process comes together to build stronger, safer, and more connected streets and infrastructure.
Visit ProjectOStreet.com for more information about Project "O" Street.

Downtown Lincoln is an exciting place to be as new development takes shape. Multiple private building projects and a parking garage are currently underway along the 9th and 10th Street corridors and "O" Street. These projects, along with Project "O" Street, the Multi-Modal Transportation Center, and the Central Library project, are expected to bring new energy and activity to the area.
You may notice the “orange cones of progress” as work continues in the area, with lane reductions and street closures in place to support active work zones.
🧭 Why now? These projects are being coordinated to maintain access, support construction efficiency, and help reduce impacts during higher traffic periods such as Husker football season and other peak travel times downtown.
