My pinky made it! I'm so happy and proud of him for keep fighting along with me 😊🙏
Long days and sleepless nights paid off 🤗🙏
A lot is involved in rehabbing pinky baby opossums because below 25 grams they are not fully developed and requires us to recreate the mother's pouch with the right humidity and heat besides the appropriate formula, in his case he wasn't digesting the formula because his GI tract was not fully formed so I had to make changes to the "normal" protocol but the end result speaks louder than words 🙏🤗
The music could not be more appropriate 😉

What a beautiful day with my friends visiting POHS and the center! I swear to God, I haven't been this happy in a long time 🤗
We had a great time strolling through the garden and enjoying every bit of it. Their knowledge about plants was incredible. We had so much fun and the camaraderie was instantly.
Thanks Olga, Victor, Luisa and Victor for spending this special day with us.
Thanks BC for opening the Tropical house for my friends 🤗

Guys, please join me in wishing my friend and one of our loyal supporters a Happy Birthday!
Lucy has been there for us through the years. I met her in 2010 when in celebration of National Feral Cat Day I was offering a TNR 101 class at Miami Dade Animal Services through my cat rescue organization .feline and she wanted to learn how to help cats, the rest is history. She is always donating to our fundraisers and every year she chooses our small organization to be the beneficiary for her birthday gifts in FB https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1Am2qBQEkB/
Lucy, we wish you all the best, health, happiness, love and prosperity 🤗

As some of you know besides my wildlife rehabilitation facility I have a cat rescue organization for over 20 years. Although in the last 5 years it's been on hold I still do what I can to save cats and this has been the case with Chino.
I learned about him last week when I was talking to the colony feeder .pawss I offered to help but since I had some other emergencies this past couple of days I wasn't able to trap until Wednesday late afternoon.
At first glance he looked in pretty bad shape, dehydrated, really skinny and panting heavily so I was suspecting FIV /FeLV.
I rushed him to the emergency vet last night but we were afraid he may not resist sedation based on his current condition so I took him home and today I brought him to my veterinarian, Dr. Aballi who is not only the medical director of my cat rescue organization but also the one for my wildlife rehabilitation facility.
Since he was calmer than last night, we didn't need to sedate him, I was able to scruff him and run the FIV/FeLV test.
Those were the longest 10 minutes waiting but the results brought happy tears to my eyes 👀
His hand was taken care of and he is in my house resting and receiving the medical care he needs, he is on antibiotics, SQ fluids and laser treatment for his hand.
My deepest gratitude to Dr. Aballi, Margarita, Marthica and Jenny for always being there for me 🤗
The raccoon with the plastic bottle stuck in his/her hand was finally trapped and now I am in VEG in Pinecrest. It will be sedated and we are going to cut the bottle.
