It is an honor to celebrate Juneteenth and reflect on the importance of freedom, unity, and progress. Great to be with New York State Attorney General Letitia James and my good friend, New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, as we commemorated this important day together.

Did you know Buffalo has one of the largest and oldest Juneteenth Festivals in the country? It does, and today I was proud to join many others to raise the Juneteenth flag over Niagara Square to signify the beginning of Juneteenth festivities in Buffalo and Erie County, the historic 50th year of the celebration locally.

The Juneteenth Festival and corresponding Parade are great, fun events and with today's flag raising the festivities can begin.

Honored to have been invited as a guest speaker at the Asian Heritage Festival. Thank you to the organizers for the invitation and for putting together such a wonderful event celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Asian community. It was a privilege to share this special day with so many community leaders, families, and friends.

Please be advised that, effective June 1, 2026, examination fees for Civil Service examinations will increase.

The updated non-refundable exam fees are as follows:
Civil Service examinations: $25.00
Uniformed service examinations within the Police and Fire Departments: $50.00
These fee changes will apply to all examinations administered on or after June 1, 2026.

It was an honor for me to attend the B Inspired Youth Event and spend my Saturday with the West Side community. Thank you to everyone who made this inspiring event possible and for continuing to empower and uplift our youth.

I will be attending the B-Inspired Youth Empowerment Event hosted by the Buffalo Police Department B-District and community partners. Looking forward to supporting and empowering our youth through mentorship, education, and community engagement.

I was honored to attend the Shahjaan’s Healthcare Phlebotomy Graduation & Oath Ceremony for the Class of 2026. It was a privilege to represent the City and present certificates to such dedicated graduates as they begin their journey in healthcare. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
