St. Lawrence County Libertarians are asking you for help to build the competitor to the Democratic and Republican Parties. Change your party and ask a few more people to change too! Thank you!

If you change your party right now in NY, it won’t take effect until June 28th. Change it anyway. Ask your friends. Ask your family. Ask your coworkers. Ask your bowling team, your Euchre pals, your next-door neighbor, your store greeter, that guy walking his dog, ask everyone. When they update the numbers publicly on June 28th, let’s show another big jump in Libertarians in NY.

Friends of Liberty:

In spite of - or perhaps because of - New York’s ranking as the least free state in the nation, the Libertarian Party of New York has tripled in size since achieving ballot access in 2018. We are now 22,000 strong, making us the fastest, and arguably the only, growing political party in New York State. We held our first ever statewide primary in June, and seated our first elected state committee in September. At the general election in November, we ran over fifty candidates for public office across the state. More than half of the sixty-two counties in New York are now represented by an LPNY-recognized county organization. We are regularly sending out press releases and getting media coverage. We have come a long way since our founding nearly fifty years ago!

Now, more than ever, the politicians in Albany see our success and are increasingly intent on silencing our voice to advance their own statist agenda. Under cover of the pandemic, the state legislature and the governor passed into law onerous ballot access and petitioning thresholds. County Boards of Elections, acting on “guidance” from the State Board of Elections, are conspiring to remove third party voters from the rolls, by sending them misleading letters and unilaterally changing these voters’ party enrollments.

Last July, the LPNY filed a federal lawsuit against the NYS Board of Elections to invalidate these unjust and unconstitutional laws. In December, we additionally filed a motion for preliminary injunction to stop the law’s implementation. We are confident we will prevail in court.

To support our ongoing outreach efforts and legal expenses, we held a pledge drive last year, seeking monthly donations from friends of Liberty. Libertarians across the state answered the call and have contributed each month since making our initial request. If you are already one of our monthly contributors, we thank you for your continued support, and ask you to consider increasing your donation if you are able.

If you have not yet pledged to the LPNY, start today! Your monthly Liberty Pledge will help us maintain our current programs and bolster our financial resources for the future. Please consider pledging to the LPNY at one of the following levels:

Sustaining Pledge - $5/month
Bronze Pledge - $10/month
Silver Pledge - $25/month
Gold Pledge - $50/month
Platinum Pledge - $75/month
Diamond Pledge - $100/month

Our pledge goal is $5,000 per month. If everyone reading this message pledges just $5 each month, we will easily exceed this goal. If you can give at a higher level, please do—we will exceed our goal faster.

In return for your pledge, you will receive recognition on the Liberty Pledge Honor Roll on our website, recognizing you as a supporter of the LPNY and the Liberty movement here in New York.

Two huge parties control everything. They make a lot of rules to disadvantage their competitors and grow their own power. They are extremely wealthy and have had a century to build their funding networks. Have you ever wondered why taxpayers foot the bill for these extremely wealthy parties to choose their candidates in “primary” elections? On top of that, the D/R parties only allow certain voters to participate in these taxpayer-funded party-specific primaries...and they set rules so high that it’s rare for much smaller parties to participate in these public primaries with their competing candidates.
