It was a pleasure to join the P.S. 165 Q Edith. K. Bergtraum community for their school carnival and celebrate the hard work of students, families, teachers, and staff as they wrapped up a long school year with a well-deserved celebration. It was also exciting to meet with the PTA to discuss new capital funding my office was able to provide hear their vision on how the school can best invest those resources to support its students.

I had the honor of awarding Yutian Chen with the Exceptional Academics and Leadership award. While making valuable contributions to the P.S. 79 community, she's also a member of the cheer team and Vice President of their student council! She's been a positive role model by demonstrating leadership and commitment. Congratulations Yutian!

I was pleased to host a Scam Prevention event at HANAC, Inc alongside the NYPD 109th Precinct, Con Edison, and other community organizations. It is crucial for our seniors to stay informed about the latest scams and the steps they can take to protect themselves. Thank you to HANAC for welcoming us and to all of our partners for helping connect older adults with the resources and information they need to stay safe and protected.

It was so special to see students walk past a mural they helped create.
I was proud to join the PS 201 Q, STEAM Magnet School community for the unveiling of this new mural, which I helped secure funding for and which was brought to life by the QCANetwork. From the earliest ideas to the final design, students played a meaningful role in shaping this artwork, and their vision now lives on at their school.
Thank you to the students, Principal Simpson, the P.S. 201Q PTA, Queens Culture & Arts Network, and muralist Aleksandra Korolenko for helping make this project possible.

Keeping our community safe takes strong partnerships. I met with the NYPD 109th Precinct’s new Commanding Officer, Deputy Inspector Chowdhury, to discuss the issues residents are raising and the precinct’s plans to address them. He is already off to an impressive start, and I look forward to working together to keep our neighborhoods safe, responsive, and strong.

PASSED! My bill with Senator Leroy Comrie requiring e-scooter rental companies to clearly warn users that riders under 18 are prohibited has passed both Houses.
Too many minors have been injured, too many pedestrians have been put at risk, and too many communities have been left to deal with the consequences. This bill puts companies on notice: public safety comes first.
A small step, but an important one. More to come!

The major winds on Saturday night led to many fallen trees blocking roads & sidewalks, including the path near my home. Thank you New York City Department of Parks & Recreation for all of your hard work keeping Queens safe. Special shoutout to my daughter for doing her part.
