www.wsmoa.com Events rotate from North to South each year to accommodate departments in different parts of the state.

The Western States Mounted Officers Association is a non-profit dedicated to helping LEO, SAR, volunteers and posse members with training and communications opportunities. The association strives to keep mounted units in touch with one another and to provide high quality, POST approved trainings at various locations throughout California. Basic and Advanced classes are offered 1-2 times a year, along with Instructor Development classes, Trail Trial Competitions and a General Conference.

FIFA World Cup 2026 – Houston Game 3

The fans came out early and brought the energy for Game 3 of the FIFA World Cup in Houston as the Netherlands and Sweden square off in a crucial Group F matchup. Thousands of supporters filled the streets and fan zones long before kickoff, turning Houston into a sea of orange and blue-and-yellow as they prepared for a great day of World Cup soccer.

Community Partnerships in Action

The Gilroy Police Department Mounted Unit was proud to assist the Morgan Hill Police Department during the annual Boots & Brews Country Festival, helping provide a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees throughout the event.

Pictured are Chief Brandon Sanchez and his wife alongside Mounted Unit Sergeant Razo and Detective Jimenez. Events like Boots & Brews highlight the value of regional partnerships and the important role mounted officers play in community engagement, crowd management, and public safety.
