Omaha households have a lot of services available: weekly garbage, recycling and yardwaste collection that's paid for by property and sales taxes. Bulky items can be disposed of at a very low cost because the City subsidizes much of the cost. We also provide the pedestrian litter and recycling containers in many business districts.

4,000 tires (scale tickets aren't in yet, but should be more than 50 tons!)
Nearly 500 vehicles
Averaged 8.4 tires per vehicle, but 16, the maximum number of tires per vehicle was the most common quantity.
Vehicle sign in averaged a vehicle every 39 seconds.
The next tire event is August 15 (North Omaha), then the final one for 2026 on November 7 (West Omaha).
Omaha hosts first of three tire collection events The city moved from nine small scale events to three larger opportunities.
