Earlier this week our team began preparing hurricane kits for delivery to our recipients this Saturday.
These kits are more than supplies β they provide peace of mind, comfort, and a reminder to the seniors and homebound neighbors we serve that they are cared for and not alone as hurricane season approaches.
A heartfelt thank you to Grow Financial Group for your generous support and helping hands. Your partnership helps Meals On Wheels of Tampa continue serving our community with compassion, preparedness, and love.
Together, we are helping ensure our recipients are ready, supported, and remembered.

Meals On Wheels of Tampa was proud to be part of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards alongside so many incredible businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders.
Our CEO, Mandy Cloninger, enjoyed celebrating with the Meals On Wheels of Tampa team and as a special run in with her fellow Leadership Tampa Bay Class of 2025 classmates, Hanisha Patel with SouthState Bank and David Leon with Long & Associates.
Although we did not take home the award, we are grateful for the recognition, the connections, and the opportunity to stand among organizations doing meaningful work throughout Tampa. Nights like this remind us how strong our community is when we show up for one another. π
Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners!

For over 50 years, Meals On Wheels of Tampa has delivered hot meals to homebound seniors across our community β without accepting a single dollar of government funding.
Every route. Every meal. Every friendly visit. Funded entirely by donors, businesses, and community partners who believe that no neighbor should go hungry.
That independence is something we wear with pride. And it's only possible because of this community's extraordinary generosity. Thank you for making 50+ years possible. π

Reginald is 71. He lives alone. Six days a week, he goes to dialysis.
By the time he gets home, he is exhausted. Cooking the specialized meals his kidneys require is more than difficult β some days, it is impossible.
His son Greg lives three hours away and helps as much as he can, but he canβt be there every day.
And too often, Reginald is left choosing between filling a prescription and having enough food to eat.
No senior should have to make that choice.
Right now, nearly 1,000 homebound seniors across Greater Tampa rely on Meals On Wheels of Tampa for hot, nutritious meals and a daily friendly visit. For many, that knock at the door is the only human connection they will have all day.
Your gift can make an immediate difference:
π½οΈ $39 provides a full week of meals for a senior like Reginald
π½οΈ $165 provides an entire month of meals and daily friendly visits
Summer is especially difficult for the seniors we serve, and the need continues to grow.
Reginald should not have to face hunger or isolation. Neither should any of our neighbors.

Look at this crew. π
These are the faces of Meals On Wheels of Tampa β Bill, Tracy, Mary, Ivy, and Connie. Some have been driving routes for years. Some are newer to the family. All of them know the truth that every volunteer eventually learns:
You think you're delivering a meal. You're actually delivering connection. You're a wellness check. A familiar voice. Sometimes the only knock on the door all day.
Nourish. Enrich. Strengthen. It's not just our tagline β it's what walks through the door every time a volunteer does. π
Ready to join them? We're always looking for new faces. ππ½οΈ

One morning a month can go a long way β€οΈπ₯π
Just a few hours is all it takes to help deliver fresh produce to neighbors who are counting on someone to show up β not just for healthy food, but for connection and care.
No experience needed. No long-term commitment. Just a reliable vehicle and a willingness to help.
Our volunteers often say they gain just as much as they give β a sense of purpose, stronger community ties, and moments that stick with them long after the route is done.
June is a great time to get started π
