Did you know parts of The Colony Parks & Recreation Department's Park Loop Trail from Ragan to Clover Valley are intentionally not being fully mowed? WHY? ‡

Last year, wildflower areas grew well in this area and we've been rewarded with pollinators now visiting those areas! πŸ¦‹

Parks is continuing this approach, letting native plants seed naturally and gradually take over where weeds once dominated. So, if you notice some wilder-looking stretches on the trail, that's by design!

Learn more about the Wildflower & Naturalized Areas Program by Parks on their website.

Something beautiful is growing in The Colony, and it's completely on purpose. 🌸

The Colony Parks & Recreation Department has been working to naturalize areas at Squires Park, along FM 423 and the Park Loop Trail with native wildflowers and plants. It's more than pretty, it's a long-term investment in our local ecosystem.

Stay tuned as we share the story behind the blooms, or visit Parks' website for more info!
