We are a group of active and retired nurse volunteers who provide honor guard service to fallen nurses.
We perform a service similar to the military & police department, Dressed in traditional white uniform, we also provide living and retirement tributes.

What began as a single vision to ensure that no nurse is forgotten has grown into a statewide movement of compassion, respect, and remembrance.
Today, Alabama is proud to have 10 Nurse Honor Guard chapters serving communities across our state, providing Nightingale Tributes, Living Tributes, Retirement Tributes, and support for nurses and their families during lifeβs most meaningful moments.
Together, these dedicated volunteers represent thousands of hours of service and a shared commitment to honoring the legacy of nursing.

Because of these chapters, nearly 80% of Alabama is now covered by a Nurse Honor Guard, ensuring more nurses receive the honor and recognition they deserve.
To every guard member who answers the call, carries the lamp, rings the triangle, and comforts grieving familiesβthank you. Your service preserves the dignity, history, and sacred traditions of our profession.
If your area is not yet covered, we invite nurses to establish new chapters in Alabama communities that still need a Nurse Honor Guard. Together, we can extend this meaningful tradition to every corner of our state.

After an outstanding career serving in the United States Army, she retired from military service and now teaches, helping shape and inspire the next generation of nurses. οΏΌ
Her dedication to nursing, education, leadership, and service continues to make a lasting impact on those around her. We are honored to have Kimberly as a member of the Nurse Honor Guard of West Alabama.
She participated in her 1st Nightingale Tribute May 9,2026.
