My friend LaMonica stepped up to protect people and demand answers from ICE. Now she’s being prosecuted for it. This case will decide whether Trump can silence critics and avoid accountability. I’ve got Representative LaMonica McIver ‘s back in this fight.
Earlier today, the Senate passed the War Powers Resolution to block Trump from resuming his reckless war in Iran. The American people have made it clear from the beginning that they didn’t want this war, and now Congress is making it clear as well. I proudly voted for this Resolution and am calling for a swift end to this illegal, unilateral war.
I’m proud to support the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which passed the House earlier tonight. Housing has become far too expensive for Louisianians. This landmark legislation represents a rare bipartisan victory and an important step towards expanding affordable housing, addressing homelessness, and ensuring every family has a safe place to call home.

The Department of State will be available to assist with proof of citizenship and other records, and can print records on-site.

Today, we celebrated Daniel Cressy, a 23-year-old who is the first patient in Louisiana to receive curative gene therapy for treating Sickle Cell Disease. I have fought in Congress to protect and expand funding for sickle cell research and treatment, and I know firsthand that this disease doesn’t wait. And neither can we. Daniel, your story and your strength are going to be inspirational for countless people. Lives will be transformed. And lives will be saved. All because you refused to give up. It’s official! We broke ground at the 9th Ward Stadium! I secured $3 million for this project in its very early stages. For too long, historically underserved communities like the Upper Ninth Ward have watched resources flow elsewhere. Today, that changes and we birth a facility worthy of our children.
