It is the substratum of all other interests; and the degree of advancement which marks the progress of our country and its people in wealth, enterprise, education, and substantial independence, is measured by the prosperity of its rural interests."

Today is Mental Health Awareness in Agriculture Day—an opportunity to reflect on the unique challenges producers face as they work to feed, fuel, and clothe America. Today and every day, we thank our farmers and ranchers for the vital work they do in their fields, pastures, and barns.

The House Committee on Agriculture remains committed to supporting our hardworking producers through meaningful ag policy—from historic investments in the farm safety net last summer to expanding credit access in the 2026 farm bill.
