Great celebrating the life and legacy of Barbara Ann Smith in Bushwick this weekend.

Thanks to Council Member Sandy Nurse for organizing this tribute & to the Smith family for sharing her memory.

This street co-naming will ensure her legacy is forever part of the neighborhood she loved.

ARFID is a serious eating disorder that often emerges in early childhood, yet it remains widely unrecognized and undertreated.

Proud to introduce a resolution with supporting the advancement of awareness, early screening, and equitable access to care.

A status bill that includes colonialism as an option is not decolonization.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez & I oppose the Resident Commissioner's legislation & will keep fighting for real self-determination for Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico's colonial status is a stain on our history. It must end.

When disaster strikes, the victims are not Republicans or Democrats. They are Americans.

Nine years after Maria, Puerto Rico still isn't ready to face even a Category 1 hurricane. Shame on us.

Until my last day here, I will be fighting to do right by the people.

A year ago, Republicans gutted health care and food assistance to fund tax cuts for billionaires and unleash ICE on our communities.

Today they doubled down: $70 billion more for an enforcement machine that's already out of control. I voted NO.

Trump is marching us toward another unauthorized war, this time in Cuba.

Congress must reassert its constitutional authority if the President continues on this illegal path.

Today, Rep. Gregory Meeks & I introduced a War Powers Resolution to stop this conflict. No war with Cuba.

Today, the House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, a meaningful step toward addressing our housing affordability crisis.

I secured provisions to open federal housing programs to cooperatives and strengthen Congressional oversight of NYCHA's federal monitor.

The Senate should move quickly to pass this bill.

UPR is too important to Puerto Rico’s future to be dismantled by austerity.

This week, alongside my colleagues, I urged the Fiscal Oversight Board to reject harmful cuts, protect pensions, cap tuition costs, and invest in public higher education.

The UPR it is a pillar of research, healthcare, culture, and social mobility for Puerto Rico. We must protect it.

Yesterday, I introduced a War Powers Resolution to end Trump’s war with Iran.

The president has no authority to launch our country into another reckless war in the Middle East. Congress must reclaim its constitutional authority and stop this escalation before it spirals further.
