Building relationships and supporting local business.
My Chief of Staff, Judy Torres, proudly represented our office at FirstBank’s Business After Hours event on St. Croix.
Thank you to FirstBank and the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce for bringing business owners, professionals, and community leaders together.

Juneteenth reminds us that the pursuit of freedom has never belonged to one place or one generation. It is a story woven throughout our shared history.
In the United States, Juneteenth marks the delayed arrival of freedom to those who had long been denied it. Here in the Virgin Islands, we honor that same spirit through Emancipation Day and through the memory of the brave men and women of the 1733 Slave Revolt on St. John, who dared to challenge an unjust system and declare, through their actions, that liberty was worth any sacrifice.
Though separated by time and circumstance, these moments are united by the courage of people who refused to accept that bo***ge would be their destiny. Their resistance, resilience, and hope continue to shape who we are as a people.
As we reflect on Juneteenth, let us also remember our own history and recommit ourselves to preserving truth, advancing justice, and ensuring that future generations understand the price that was paid for the freedoms we enjoy today.
We remember. We honor. We carry their legacy forward.

20 homicides already in 2026.
Just take a moment and think about that.
Twenty lives lost. Twenty families left grieving. Twenty communities impacted. Behind every number is a son, daughter, mother, father, friend, or neighbor whose absence leaves a permanent void.
This isn't about statistics. It's about people.
Far too many families in our Virgin Islands have had to experience the pain of losing a loved one to violence. Far too many mothers have received that devastating phone call. Far too many young lives have been cut short.
The truth is, we all have a role to play in helping stop the violence.
If you see something, hear something, or know something, please don't stay silent. One piece of information could help prevent another tragedy, solve a crime, or bring closure to a family searching for answers.
📞 Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
You can remain completely anonymous.
This isn't just the responsibility of law enforcement—it's the responsibility of all of us. We must look out for one another, support our youth, strengthen our neighborhoods, and work together to break the cycle of violence.
The Virgin Islands is stronger than this. We owe it to the families we've lost, the families still hurting, and the next generation to do better.
Less violence. More peace. A better tomorrow.

Menos violencia. Más paz. Un mejor mañana.

DIGNITY. HOPE. HUMANITY.
This past Saturday, my Office represented by my Chief of Staff Ms. Torres was honored to support and donate to the Collective Collaboration’s Dignity for Humanity Survival Backpack Packing Event on St. Croix.
Hundreds of lives can be touched when a community chooses compassion over indifference. Together with dedicated volunteers, solar-powered survival backpacks and tents were prepared for individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship throughout our Virgin Islands.
My Office proudly contributed and donated 50 pairs of shoes, camping hammocks, portable shower units, deodorant, hygiene kits, toiletry kits, socks, and other essential supplies.
While these items may seem simple to some, they represent something far greater: dignity, comfort, and the reminder that no one is forgotten.
Homelessness is not a statistic. It could happen to any of us. Behind every circumstance is a human being - a veteran, a parent, a friend, a neighbor, or someone we love. Every person deserves to be seen, respected, and treated with dignity and compassion.
To Pastor Pipe, Earl, Ruben, Country, Frito, Carla, Veterans On Wheels, St. Croix Christian Church, the Virgin Islands Port Authority, The Collective Collaboration, and every volunteer who gave their time and heart—thank you for being the hands and feet of service in our community.
The strength of the Virgin Islands is not measured by what we achieve for ourselves, but by what we do for those who need us most.
Porque la dignidad no tiene precio. La esperanza no tiene fronteras. Y la humanidad nos une a todos.
🇻🇮 Together, we rise. Together, we serve. Together, we ensure that no one is left behind.
