The first day of school kicked off with our 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 program, where students were greeted with fun games, awesome performances, introductions of our teaching and non-teaching staff, and enough energy to make everyone forget they woke up early. (Well... almost. 😴)

New classmates. New lessons. New memories. Same struggle of remembering where the classroom is. 🏃‍♂️💨

As we begin another year of learning, growth, and occasional panic when the teacher says, “Get one whole sheet of paper,” let’s make every moment count and create a school year worth remembering.

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government officially announces the return of 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐘: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, a donation drive dedicated to supporting fellow Abellonians by collecting school supplies, uniforms, shoes, books, and other student essentials. 🎒👟📦

As another academic year begins, many learners continue to hope for a complete set of materials that will help them start strong and confident. Through this initiative, pre-loved but still usable items may continue to serve students who are in need of support for the coming school year. ✨

Did you know there's an animal that can perform photosynthesis? 🌿

𝐄𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚 is a bright green sea slug known for its extraordinary ability to perform photosynthesis—a process typically associated with plants. It achieves this through 𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐲, a phenomenon where the slug steals chloroplasts from the algae it consumes. Instead of producing its own chloroplasts, Elysia chlorotica absorbs them from its prey and stores them in its own cells, allowing it to convert sunlight into energy and produce its own food.

The stolen chloroplasts continue to function inside the slug’s body, enabling it to generate sugars and nutrients from sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water—much like a plant. This process reduces the slug’s dependence on constant feeding. However, the relationship is temporary, as the chloroplasts gradually degrade and must be replenished by eating more algae. Despite this limitation, Elysia chlorotica remains one of the few known animals capable of harnessing solar energy for survival.
