SIAVONGA TOWN COUNCIL UNDERTAKES INSPECTION OF CDF PROJECTS ACROSS ALL 12 WARDS TO ENSURE QUALITY SERVICE DELIVERY

18th June, 2026- Siavonga,Zambia:
Siavonga Town Council, led by the Council Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Shombo, has undertaken a comprehensive inspection of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects currently under construction across all twelve (12) wards of Siavonga District.

The two days inspection exercise, conducted on 17th and 18th June 2026, was aimed at assessing the progress of ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to approved standards and verifying that the projects are being implemented in a manner that responds to the developmental needs and priorities of the people of Siavonga.

The inspection covered various CDF funded projects being implemented within the district, with the Council leadership engaging contractors, project supervisors and relevant stakeholders on the importance of quality workmanship, timely completion and value for money.

Speaking during the exercise, Council Secretary Mr. Kennedy Shombo emphasised that Siavonga Town Council remains committed to promoting transparency, accountability and effective utilisation of public resources entrusted to the local authority.

The Council further noted that the exercise will enable management to identify challenges affecting project implementation and facilitate timely interventions where necessary to ensure successful completion of all ongoing projects.

Through continued monitoring and stakeholder engagement, Siavonga Town Council remains focused on fostering sustainable development, strengthening public confidence and ensuring that community investments are aligned with the broader vision of improving social and economic outcomes for residents across the district.

PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ON THE ELECTORAL PROCESS ❗️

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) - Siavonga District will today, 18th June 2026, be live on Kariba FM (88.9) at exactly 16:00 PM to to discuss key issues surrounding the forthcoming General Elections scheduled for 13th August 2026.

The programme will provide a platform to share important voter education messages, promote awareness and encourage citizens to participate meaningfully in the electoral process.

SIVONGA TOWN COUNCIL PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO, FOOD MARKET AND MOSI-OA-TUNYA GREEN MARATHON (2ND EDITION)

Siavonga Town Council successfully participated in the Environmental Expo, Food Market and the 2nd Edition of the Mosi-oa-Tunya Green Marathon held in Livingstone, an event convened to promote national efforts towards environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

The events provided a premier national platform for Local Authorities and key stakeholders to showcase innovative approaches, exchange knowledge and strengthen collective action towards a greener and more sustainable future for Zambia.

Siavonga Town Council used the opportunity to exhibit its ongoing programs in key thematic areas, including Climate Resilience and Waste Management, Green Livelihoods and the promotion of Best Environmental Practices within the district.

The Council further highlighted community driven initiatives aimed at safeguarding natural resources, improving waste management systems and promoting sustainable livelihoods, particularly in a climate sensitive environment such as Siavonga.

The Council extends appreciation to the organizers for convening such a significant platform and reaffirms its readiness to continue collaborating with stakeholders in advancing green development initiatives.
