📣🚨EMERGENCY TESTING PORT LINCOLN 🚨📣
Port Lincoln residents and visitors are reminded AusAlert testing will take place in around an hour at 11am.
No action is required and the alert is a test only.

AusAlert is being tested in Port Lincoln, South Australia, today.📱
Here’s what you need to know. 👇
- A test ‘Priority AusAlert’ message will be sent by the Australian Government to all compatible mobile devices in the City of Port Lincoln Council area at around 11:00 am, today, Saturday 20 June 2026.
- If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert.
- Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.
- Feedback can be provided online, by visiting www.AusAlert.gov.au/feedback
There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 1:30 pm ACST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.
Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance and may boost battery life.

🚨EXERCISE IN PROGRESS🚨
South Australia Police Water Operations Unit in conjunction with Local Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Groups will be conducting a simulated Search & Rescue Exercise in the Port Augusta area between the hours of 8.00 am and 1.00 pm today, Saturday 20 June.
The exercise will involve volunteers from VMR Groups in the Upper Spencer Gulf area and there will be an increased presence of emergency services in the area.

Police are investigating the theft of two electric bikes from a store in Moonta in the early hours of this morning.
About 3.50am today (Friday 19 June), a person armed with a metal pole smashed their way into the store on George Street and stole two e-bikes, namely a Eunorau Flash AWD 1.0 bike and a Eunorau Fat HS e-bike.
The suspect was dressed in black clothing and tan-coloured boots.

Waikerie Police are investigating the theft of council artwork last week.
Between 4 pm on Friday, 12 June, and 10 am on Tuesday, 16 June, unknown suspects stole a council artwork (pictured) from a garden bed on Peake Terrace, Waikerie.

Police are investigating the theft of tools from a vehicle at Renmark.
Between 1am and 1.30am on Wednesday 17 June, the victim parked a ute outside a hotel on Murray Street.
Sometime during that period, a number of tools were stolen from the vehicle. The stolen items include a Milwaukee battery charger, rapid charger, 12V wrench, and an impact ratchet. The tools are marked with the name “Sam” in white paint.
Marking tools is highly recommended by police to increase the odds of stolen tools being identified and recovered.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au. You can remain anonymous.

A truck driver has been seriously injured after a crash at Back Valley.
About 5.15pm on Thursday 18 June, police and emergency services responded to reports of that a truck had crashed into a tree on Range Road, Back Valley, about 10 kilometres west of Victor Harbor.
The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 57-year-old Waitpinga man, was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Traffic restrictions were in place for several hours, however the road has since fully re-opened.
