A huge shout-out to our SAPSASA Boys AFL team, who proudly represented our school at today’s competition!
The boys demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude throughout the day, giving their all in every match. Their efforts were rewarded with an impressive result, finishing the day with three wins and just one loss! 🎉
From determined defence to exciting attacking plays, the team showed great sportsmanship and supported one another every step of the way. They should be incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.
A big thank you to Mr Sellar for coaching, supervising and encouraging the boys throughout the day. We also extend our appreciation to our wonderful parent helpers for their support and assistance. Opportunities like these wouldn’t be possible without you!
Well done, boys – you represented our school with pride! 💙

In Week 4, our Reception students enjoyed an unforgettable excursion to Hahndorf Farm Barn! 🐄🐍🐑
The day was packed with hands-on learning and exciting experiences. Students loved the bus ride before getting up close with a variety of friendly farm animals, including lambs, rabbits and guinea pigs. They had the chance to milk Daisy the cow, feed goats, sheep, cows and deer, and learn about reptiles during an interactive reptile show where they even got to pat lizards and snakes!
The fun continued on the playground, making it a day full of learning, laughter and wonderful memories. What a fantastic adventure! 🌟🚜

Our girls had a fantastic day representing our school at last week's SAPSASA AFL competition. They showed great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. While they came away with one win from five games, what a win it was — a huge 72-point victory! 🎉
A big thank you to Mr Sellar for supporting, supervising and cheering on the team throughout the day, and to our wonderful parent helpers for their assistance and encouragement. We are so proud of our girls for giving their best and having fun! 💙💙

📚✨ Today our whole school came together in the gym for National Simultaneous Storytime! Students and staff joined schools, libraries and communities all across Australia to listen to this year’s story being read aloud.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual event that celebrates the joy of reading, literacy and storytelling while connecting children around the country through one shared book experience. 💛
This year’s story teaches young readers about overcoming adversity, trusting their skills, and defying those who underestimate them. Our classrooms have been buzzing with exciting activities inspired by the book — from art and writing tasks to hands-on learning experiences. 📖🎨✏️
What a wonderful way to celebrate books, learning and reading together as a school community!

Our Highbury SAPSASA Soccer teams showed incredible determination and team spirit as they braved the pouring rain at last week’s TTG District SAPSASA Soccer Carnival!
The boys’ team finished an impressive third overall, playing some outstanding soccer throughout the day. Their ball movement and defensive pressure were exceptional, and despite creating plenty of opportunities, they were unlucky not to convert more goals.
Our girls’ team achieved a fantastic second-place finish, with many students playing competitive soccer for the first time. The team showcased tremendous growth, resilience, and teamwork, along with some spectacular goals from our Year 5 students. First place narrowly slipped away after an unfortunate goal conceded against the eventual champions.
A huge thank you to Mr K, Mr T and Mr B for coaching and supporting our students throughout the carnival. We are incredibly proud of all our players for the way they represented Highbury!l!
