The Barossa Improved Grazing Group Lined Catchment project is a demonstration of drought preparedness. Leon Deans has laid a 1 ha poly liner to capture rain to fill his dam. In an average year he could capture 7 ML, in an ordinary year 4ML, without the liner, he would get nothing.
Here's a story made in collaboration with BIGG, SA Drought Hub, and the Northern and Yorke Landcape Board. We set up multiple timelapse cameras, flew drones, and over 5 months documented the construction of the lined catchment. Enjoy!

In 2025, we had the privilege of documenting Cultural Rangers from the Riverland and the Lower Lakes and Coorong as they trained in electrofishing surveys for Pondi (Murray Cod). Despite the sweltering heat—and even an overheating iPad while flying the drone—we captured the incredible process of these magnificent fish being caught, carefully weighed and measured, and then gently released to support the recovery of their population.
The FLOW MER program within the Murray-Darling Basin, delivered by SARDI here in South Australia, has achieved remarkable outcomes over the past decade. Being able to share this work has been one of the highlights of our time telling these stories.
Learning about Pondi: A Pondi monitoring and electrofishing demonstration event for First Nations Elders and broader communities | Flow-MER Pondi (Murray cod) holds deep cultural significance for First Nations people of the Lower Murray and Coorong, Lower Lakes, and Murray Mouth Area, featuring prominently in the creation story of the Murray River itself and all fish.
