South Australia’s best tourism towns and tour guide have been crowned at the 2026 Hello SA Top Tourism Town and Tour Guide Awards!

And the awards go to:
🏆 Top Tourism Town Award - Tanunda, Barossa
🏆 Tiny Tourism Town & People's Choice Award – Melrose, Flinders Ranges and Outback
🏆 Top Tour Guide Award - Scott Nugent, tour guide and skipper at Experience Coffin Bay, Eyre Peninsula

The winners will go on to represent South Australia at the Australian Top Tourism Town and Top Tour Guide Awards in Canberra later this year.

Expressions of Interest are now open to participate in our Experience Development Program (EDP) sessions in the Eyre Peninsula.

The EDP supports local tourism operators to design distinctive, bookable visitor experiences that showcase South Australia. The program provides tourism businesses with the tools they need to design a compelling signature experience that is inclusive, sustainable and competitive.

Up to 8 operators can participate and the program is available at no charge to the business, with up to two people per business able to join.

LIV Golf Adelaide has done it again for South Australia, with the 2026 tournament injecting a record $97.1 million into our visitor economy – almost 20% up on last year.

This year 115,000 people hit the green - with a huge 43% from out-of-state – setting a new benchmark for golf events nationwide, while the Saturday was one for the record books- the largest single-day crowd in LIV Golf history.

Adelaide's hotel occupancy hit a record high on the Saturday night, and the average visitor stayed for 3.71 nights to attend multiple event days.

The USA wants what we’ve got this winter! Us Weekly has named Adelaide as the ultimate 'cool-cation' destination in its list of 8 Underrated Summer 2026 Destinations Savvy Travelers Are Booking Before the Crowds Arrive.

The list praises Adelaide for its ‘Aboriginal heritage, live music and a food and wine scene that rivals any major city’ and promotes South Australia as ‘an easy escape from the heat' of an American summer.

As one of the Top 15 publications in the USA, being featured in US Weekly sees SA top of mind for potential travellers in one of our key international markets, which contributed $82 million to our visitor economy last year.

Southern Ocean Lodge, on Kangaroo Island has been named among the inaugural winners of Condé Nast Traveler’s Triple Crown Collection.

A new accolade recognising the world's most exceptional hotels, the Triple Crown is awarded to properties that have earned a place on all three of Condé Nast Traveler’s most prestigious lists over the years: the Hot List (best new hotels), the Gold List (editors' annual favourites), and the Readers' Choice Awards.
