Yesterday, Wednesday 17 June, Lockleys North Primary School proudly hosted section one of the latest CE Student Forums. The Ambassadors were at work from 10:00 am to 11:10 am, and we were joined by students and staff from Stradbroke School, Unley Primary School, Lonsdale Heights Primary School, Kalangadoo Primary School and Kongorong Primary School.
Our Student Ambassadors did an outstanding job leading Section 1 of the forum, confidently facilitating discussions and sharing the work we have been doing at Lockleys North. They demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills while helping to create a welcoming and engaging environment for all participants. All of the other schools involved did a terrific job at leading through different sections and sparking great conversations.
The forum focused on two key areas identified by student leaders across the network:
Checking our progress to understand how our learning is developing.
Inviting us to explain our thinking, not just share our answers.
Throughout the session, students engaged in rich conversations about learning mode and performance mode, reflected on practices within their schools, and explored ways to strengthen student voice and agency. It was wonderful to see students learning from one another and contributing thoughtful ideas that will help shape future learning experiences.
We are incredibly proud of our ambassadors, who represented Lockleys North with enthusiasm, confidence and professionalism. Their preparation and leadership helped make the session a success and showcased the high quality of student leadership at our school.
We thank all participating schools for their contributions and look forward to continuing this important work together as part of the CE Student Forum network.

Our Year 6 girls recently represented the school with pride at the annual Netball Carnival. The team got off to a fantastic start, winning their first two matches and securing a place in the next round of the knockout competition. The girls displayed excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
After progressing through the opening rounds, the competition became increasingly challenging. The team faced several very strong opponents and, despite their best efforts, were unable to secure further victories. However, the girls never gave up, continuing to support one another and compete with great enthusiasm and resilience.
The carnival also served as the SAPSASA Netball trials, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their skills at a higher level. We are thrilled to congratulate Quinn, Emily, Livvy and Makenzie, who were all selected to attend the next stage of the SAPSASA selection process. A special congratulations goes to Quinn, who was successfully selected in the final SAPSASA team. This is an outstanding accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of her achievement.
We would like to congratulate all of the girls who participated in the carnival. They represented themselves and our school exceptionally well, demonstrating respect, teamwork, perseverance and positive sportsmanship throughout the day. We are very proud of their efforts and the way they supported one another both on and off the court.

Congratulations to the boys on an outstanding performance at the Round 1 SAPSASA Knockout Soccer Carnival, advancing to the next stage of the competition undefeated after five games.
The team showed great determination and resilience throughout the day, competing fiercely in every match.
They produced some excellent passages of play that led to a number of terrific goals, including several from set pieces.
Defensively, the boys were equally impressive, working hard as a team and conceding just five goals across the entire carnival. Well done to all involved!!

On Wednesday, our Year 5 and 6 LNPS girls participated in the first round of the Statewide Knockout Soccer Competition. The day was a great success, with the team going undefeated in all their games.
A highlight was advancing to round 2 of the statewide competition prior to our final match, where the girls enjoyed a tightly contested practice game against Fulham North, our opponents for the next round. A brilliant early goal from Emily Petineris, scored from outside the box, put us ahead 1-0. Fulham North responded late, with the match finishing in a draw.
We are extremely proud of the team for demonstrating outstanding collaboration, sportsmanship and resilience throughout the day. This marks only the second time LNPS has progressed to the second round of the competition.
Congratulations to all the girls on a fantastic achievement! Enjoy the success, and good luck in the next stage.
