Don't panic - your wine bottles are still worth 10Β’! πΎ
After more than a decade, Council's wine and spirit bottle refund program will come to an end on Saturday 27 June 2026.
The good news? From 1 July 2026, eligible wine and spirit bottles under 3 litres will officially join the Northern Territory's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), making it even easier to claim your 10Β’ refund through approved collection points. These can be found in Hartley Street Carpark, Flynn Oval and Ross Par Carpark or Connellan Depot.
π
Key dates:
β’ Last refund day through Council: THIS Saturday 27 June
β’ Program ends: Sunday 28 June
β’ Wine and spirit bottles join CDS: Wednesday 1 July
Residents can continue to recycle glass bottles at the Regional Waste Management Facility, or claim refunds through local CDS collection points operated by Envirobank.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the program over the years and helped keep Alice Springs clean while diverting thousands of bottles from landfill. π
