When Album 117 came up as a memory I cringed because it was badly written and hard to follow. So , I revamped it but it's still a lot.
At least now those who don't read my captions may sort of follow along.

Now that several dozen original Telegraph poles have been found at Deep Well, I'm working on documenting all the possible locations around Alice Springs where relics representing the original alignment of the Overland Telegraph Lines can be installed.
The one on the saddle behind this rock outcrop and a soan each direction would be spectacular.
Finally found some more early photos of this unique rock formation. World famous photographer Max Dupain had a crack at immortalising this rock before suburbia swamped it.

5 years ago, I explored the area where this barren landscape picture was taken. Not far out of Alice Springs, as it happens.
I love that we have so many famous photographers pass through Alice, so I can see what they shoot at and how they compose their shots. And to go see what's changed of course.

Railway and Telegraph Line at Mt Blatherskite
I love connecting to stories. A mystery of twin photos, an old fuel dump, stories of the dreamtime, the Telegraph line.
All these are interconnected. AND look in the comments for the story of the family treasure buried here...
I had only ever seen two old (pre-1950s) photos of our conical mountain just outside the Gap kicking around. They are unusual, in that they are almost identical and there are no others from any other perspective to be seen.
Well, that and the fact the 1921 photo was mis-labelled as being of the Overland Telegraph Line at 'Pine Gap' (rubbish) made them eligible to go into my shoebox for possible reshoots.

After looking at the other 'Miss Pink' photoshoot, I reviewed Album 87 and found its 4 photos a bit sad, so I updated it with some extra stuff to give it the full treatment.
I generally focus on presenting the Now/Then and historical / factual aspects because from that perspective, scenic photos and videos are just fluff.
But do appreciate that I can bring people along on my adventures, by sharing some of the tons of other pictures I take.
I am not a great photographer, but I guess many are from places people will never go, and Mount Gillen is now Illegal to climb, so ther's that...

Thinking about all the times I went out with a photo and a hunch and an endless question “how would those hills look when I go further this way?”
Finally finished this project. It has involved many outings chasing Miss Pink. Miss Pink was a feisty contrary woman who set tongues wagging the moment she got off the first train to town in 1930 Fiercely independent and contemptuous of bad mannered people, she rode camels and camped with the natives as she sought to carry out her work as an anthropologist. She stayed in Alice for most of her life after that, and ticked all the boxes for being the town's archetypal witch, and many people treated her that way, although she was also a beloved icon to many. Of course this is way before Roald Dahl released his book about witches. Everybody now knows they have blue spit, and wear wigs. Although Olive did always wear gloves and she may indeed have had horribly long fingernails under them... Haha Two earlier projects on Olive pink and this photo are linked below and in the comments https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.938431176332973&type=3 and https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1319493530330372&type=3
