As the Councillor for Altona, I'd like to congratulate all our residents who became Aussie citizen's this week 🇦🇺

Hmmm, interesting that this is apparently an acceptable way for a State Government MP to speak on public record (f-bomb ahead 💣) Meanwhile, local councillors are expected to walk on eggshells, carefully choosing every word for fear of breaching the very Code of Conduct rules imposed by… the State Government itself. 🤔 One set of rules for them, another for everyone else, it seems.

And on that note... Jacinta Allan leading Labor into the state election? With her sitting as the most disliked Premier in Australia (net approval ratings are deep in the minus-30s territory), I reckon she's the PERFECT candidate for the job. Who am I to stand in the way of that strategy? 🍿🤣

Hard Waste Collection Update:

I’ve received a few emails following my reminder to book your hard waste collection before the end of the financial year. Some residents have let me know they’re unable to secure a slot before 30 June. I’ve followed this up with Council, and they’ve advised:

“June is a very popular month for Hard Waste collections in Hobsons Bay, so some areas of the municipality will be booked out soon. Rest assured that your financial year entitlement relates to the date the Hard Waste collection is booked, even if the actual collection occurs in July.” 👍🏼

If you’re having difficulty booking a slot, please contact Council directly on 1300 179 944 for assistance.

Finally some justice 👏🏼 Having met Aidan McLindon, I don’t always share his views, but he is not the malicious person some have tried to paint him as. The Supreme Court has now confirmed the suspension by the "then" Minister for Local Government was invalid (the same Minister who implemented monitors at a cost of c.$1500 per day in Hobsons Bay & Kingston Councils). Aidan McLindon should never have been removed. No doubt this witch hunt has caused Aidan serious personal and financial strain.

"Minister Staikos' action to suspend him was invalid"

The Municipal monitors failed to provide the minister with reports required under the Local Government Act. This whole saga has cost ratepayers millions and, in our opinion, ruined the reputation and standing of Aidan McLindon.

The instigators should face the music.

Aidan should never have been removed as Mayor.

Persistence pays dividends, folks!💰(Though don’t tell Albo I made these, he’ll probably try to tax the fluff out of them 🤣)... 🥞 Finally nailed the fluffy Japanese soufflé pancakes after a few heroic fails. Had the real deal in Japan and couldn’t stop thinking about them. Cheers to giving things a go. Amen for the long weekend 🙌🏼
