Sadly attendance dropped again last week. We recognise that it is the start of flu season but with assessments underway at the moment, attendance at school is more important than normal.

🌟 PBL Focus: Manage Your Emotions 🌟

For the next two weeks, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is Managing Your Emotions.

Students will be learning that while we can't always control how we feel, we can choose how we respond. Managing emotions helps us stay safe, show respect, and continue learning, even when things don't go our way.

💭 Family Discussion Prompt:
What helps you stay calm when you feel frustrated, worried, or upset?

Students demonstrating this focus and our school expectations of being Safe, Respectful and Learners may earn stamps and recognition throughout the fortnight.

Take a look at a day in the life of our school nurse, Jamie - you might even see some familiar scenery ;)

So close to reaching our target again last week! Hopefully we can get back over the line this week. Congratulations to all classes and students who reached 94% or higher!

A huge congratulations to Henry for making the 10-12 boys North West Touch Football team! This past Friday and Saturday, Henry and Mr. Hawley made the long trip up to Mt. Isa representing Central West for the North West 10-12 & 13-15 Years Touch Football Trials. Mr. Hawley was super impressed with the amount of talent at the trials and the number of students who are involved with Touch football. Henry will be off to Bundaberg for the State Championships in August. Well done Henry!

This week in PBL, we have been focusing on respecting others’ spaces and belongings. Respecting someone’s space doesn’t just refer to physical space — it also includes respecting their emotional and mental space as well.

Families can help reinforce this at home by encouraging children to ask before borrowing items, tidy up after themselves, use kind words, and recognise when someone may need personal space or quiet time.
