Recycling is more than what goes in the bin.
It’s part of a bigger system that affects waste, pollution, resource recovery and our environment.

From 30 June 2026, Recycling Victoria’s functions will move to us.

Bringing this work together means one stronger environmental regulator for you and the environment.

AusAlert is being tested in Geelong, Victoria at 2:00 pm tomorrow afternoon. ⚠️

Here’s what you need to know. 👇

A test AusAlert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in the Belmont and Highton area of City of Greater Geelong at around 2:00 pm on Thursday 18 June 2026.

If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert. 📱

Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.

There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 2:00 pm AEST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance and may boost battery life. ✅

You can find more information about what the test will look like, and how an AusAlert will appear on your device at: https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/community-testing

We're cracking down on illegal dumping like never before.

We know tossers go to great lengths to dump in your backyard. But our drones have got an upgrade with new LIDAR tech.

And with our 40 trained drone pilots doing 600+ missions across across the state we:
👁 found hidden illegal waste stockpiles in Gippsland
👩‍⚖️ gave evidence in cases which secured fines of up to $280,000
🕵️‍♀️ supported investigations into major fires in Laverton North and Derrimut
📏 measured environmental impacts like odour in Geelong.

This strengthens our work with Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Parks Victoria, Conservation Regulator Victoria and your council as apart of the Illegal Waste Dumping Taskforce.

So if you dump in Victoria... Odds are, we'll catch you.
