π Today, our Year 3/4 students were fortunate to welcome Naomi, who shared her personal experiences of being diagnosed as deaf at just two years old.
Naomi communicated with us through Auslan, with the support of an interpreter, giving students a wonderful opportunity to learn about Deaf culture, communication, and inclusion. Students were fascinated as they learned how Auslan is used to connect and communicate every day.
One of the highlights of the visit was an Auslan alphabet competition! As Alaa Ahmed (3/4A) shared, "The best part of the visit was the alphabet competition. She could sign the whole alphabet in 3 seconds!!!"
Thank you, Naomi, for sharing your story, teaching us new skills, and inspiring our students to embrace diversity and inclusion. ππ€

Today we joined thousands of children across Australia for Simultaneous Storytime! πβ¨
We loved sharing a story together and celebrating the joy of reading, imagination and connection.
Ask your child about:
π What happened in the story?
β Their favourite character or part?
π¨ An activity they completed afterwards?
π What they would do if they were in the story?
We had a wonderful time reading, learning and sharing together!

Students in 1B have been working hard solving addition worded problems using part-part-whole models and number bonds. Through visual supports and hands on manipulatives, students have been building their confidence in breaking apart and combining numbers to find solutions. Great work, 1B! βππ

The students in 2B have been enjoying the class text Stellarphant. Students have been answering questions related to the text that involve directly stated information, inferencing, critical thinking, vocabulary, and making text-to-self connections. Keep up the great work, 2B!

Students in Years 5 and 6 recently completed their learning about the amazing living things on our planet and how scientists study fossils and once-living organisms to better understand life on Earth π¦π¦π¦
We had fun creating our own organisms as well as making our own fossil imprints too.
To celebrate their learning, we visited Melbourne Museum and had a wonderful time exploring and discovering all things living and once living.

In grade 3/4 students have been engaged in some wonderful learning as they have been exploring the life cycle of plants. They have stepped into the role of Botanists through a hands-on germination experiment with broad bean plants.
Throughout the process, students were thinking like scientists by making predictions, carefully observing changes and explaining their learning. It has been fantastic to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they investigate how plants grow and develop π±π±π±
