Recently, our Year 11 and 12 VCE VM girls attended the Trade and Tech Fit Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The expo is designed to allow women to experience viable pathways in these fields to give them increased access and opportunity. Our girls had a great day participating in lots of activities and contributing to building a house frame that was constructed in the centre of the expo!

Week 9 marks the start of Refugee Week, and we’re spending the week celebrating and honouring the stories of refugees through a range of lunchtime activities.
This week students watched Sitara, a beautiful short film about courage, hope and finding home, while others took part in mindfulness colouring, added to a shared mindmap, and worked on the 1 Thousand Stories creative competition.

On Friday last week, students learning German in years 9 and 10 had the opportunity to see a film as a part of the annual German Film Festival.
The film was 'Mein Freund Barry' and told the story of a young boy in the early 1800s in the Swiss Alps, who befriends a St Bernard puppy that he names Barry. St Bernards are trained to be Avalanche dogs and carry out rescues. Students were very engaged in the film and were exposed to the Swiss-German dialect.

Last week, our Year 11 Outdoor Education students headed out to Cathedral Ranges for an unforgettable few days in the bush.
The students spent several days hiking both circuits, scrambling rocks, camping under the stars and cooking together as a team. The kind of experience that builds character, connection and memories that last well beyond the classroom.
