As a social worker, I spend a lot of time alongside people who have spent years being told they need to fit into systems, environments and expectations that were never designed with them in mind.

Neurodiversity reminds us that there is no one "right" way to think, communicate, learn or experience the world.

Many of the people I support bring incredible creativity, honesty, passion, insight, determination and unique perspectives.

Sometimes the challenge isn't the person.
Sometimes it's the environment.

Let's continue creating spaces where people can be themselves, where strengths are recognised, and where support is built around the individual.

At Lets Reseed, that's what capacity building means to me.

Growth.
Connection.
Change.

❄️ Today, we’re playing on for Neale. ❄️

Today, Adam, Sasha 🐾 and I joined the Big Freeze 12 and made our donation to help support vital research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

As a social worker, I see every day how illness can impact not just individuals, but entire families, communities and support networks. Causes like this remind us of the importance of connection, compassion, advocacy and hope.

At Lets Reseed, I believe in showing up for people during life’s toughest moments, and today is one small way we can contribute to a cause that continues to make a difference.

If you’re able to, consider making a donation and supporting the fight against MND.

💙 Play on, for Neale.

“Wait… social work got approved?” 👀

I supported someone through their NDIS access (which was approved without issue) and attended their first planning meeting with them last week (cognitive & neurological impairment after experiencing a stroke)… and honestly, I paused for a second.

Because not only was OT strongly funded (as expected, and appropriate for ABI/stroke)…
👉🏻 social work was also included.

No pushback. No fight.
Just, recognised.

And that felt refreshing.

A reminder that good outcomes are still possible, even in a changing NDIS landscape.

Of course, we always want more hours (don’t we all 😅)
But for a first plan, this was actually a really solid, balanced outcome:

✔️ Strong OT funding leading functional and cognitive rehab
✔️ A dedicated allocation of social work supporting psychosocial impact, adjustment, identity, grief, and systems navigation
✔️ Psychology (with transition to MHCP)
✔️ Physio
✔️ Support work & transport
✔️ Support coordination & PSRC
✔️ Plan management
✔️ Assistive technology (with quotes, no capped limit)

What stood out most?

It wasn’t just a “therapy-heavy” plan.
It was a whole-of-person plan.

Because after a stroke, it’s not just about function.
It’s about who you are now, what’s changed, what’s been lost and what’s still there, and how you rebuild.

And that’s where social work sits — alongside, not instead of, other therapies.

👉🏻 Supporting adjustment
👉🏻 Making sense of the psychosocial complexity
👉🏻 Navigating systems (NDIS, DVA, life…)
👉🏻 Making sense of what comes next

And this time, it was recognised, from the start.

No big advocacy push.
No “prove your worth.”
Just, included.

More of this, please.

Because when plans get this balance right from the start, we’re not spending the next 12 months navigating barriers in the system — we’re actually doing the work.

Still here 🌱 (just doing all the jobs…)

Social worker. Accountant. Admin. Marketing team. All of it.

Hi, it’s Laura from Lets Reseed 🙋🏻‍♀️

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, not because I’ve disappeared… just because private practice means being everything at once.

Social worker.
Report writer.
NDIS navigator.
Accountant (kind of 😅)
Admin.
Marketing team (clearly still learning).

And sometimes, social media is the thing that drops off.

But the work hasn’t stopped.

Supporting people through change.
Holding space for the hard stuff.
Advocating, writing reports, navigating systems.
Doing the everyday, meaningful work of social work.

So this is me showing back up, to reconnect.

If we haven’t met before, I’m a social worker based in Melbourne and the person behind Lets Reseed.

I support:
NDIS participants
Veterans (DVA)
Individuals navigating life changes
Social workers and students through supervision

My work sits in the space between therapy and real life — emotional wellbeing, practical support, and making sense of complex systems.

Simple. Human. Real.

If you’ve been meaning to reach out, this is your sign 🌱
If you refer to social work, I’m here and open to connecting.
If you’ve worked with me before — thank you, and welcome back 😊

🌱 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
Associate Social Worker – Lets Reseed

I’m exploring bringing on an Associate Social Worker to join Lets Reseed in a flexible contractor (percentage split) capacity as the practice grows.

This role would focus on psychosocial support, NDIS work, advocacy, and community-based support, alongside a small, values-led social work practice.

✨ Remote & community-based
✨ Flexible caseload (gradual growth)
✨ Supervision, mentoring & support provided

You might be early-career or experienced — most importantly, you’re relational, reflective, and aligned with trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practice.

If this sounds like you, I’d love to connect 🤍
Send me a message or email with a short intro & your CV.
