Carry On has been supporting the veteran community since 1932. We help veterans and their families,

Carry On is an ESO that has been in existence since 12 July 1932. It was founded by 12 like-minded veterans of World War 1, who took on the task of assisting those who were less fortunate than themselves. Carry On provides financial, educational and welfare services to the Ex-Service community and their dependents. We also have approximately 100 individual living units throughout both in metropolitan and regional Victoria.

"Because sometimes, despite everything, good things really do happen."

We think you'll be inspired by Gordon's story. πŸ‘‡

What does it take to go from conscripted soldier to finally having a place to call home?

Gordon, one of our Noble Park tenants, wrote his own story β€” and it's one worth reading. His words. His journey. His ending.

Louis Edgar Cazaly is part of the reason we exist today.

As one of the veterans who inspired William Hawkins to establish the Carry On Club in 1932, his service and story helped shape a legacy of support for veterans that continues to this day.

"Young Snowy is on duty, but he was fast asleep and I didn't have the heart to wake him."
β€” Louis Edgar Cazaly

Few words say so much. In the trenches, far from home, Lou Cazaly's quiet compassion for a sleeping young soldier speaks to the character of the man behind the uniform.
Lou's story didn't end on the battlefield. His resilience and spirit were a direct inspiration for William Hawkins, who founded the Carry On Club in 1932 β€” a lifeline for veterans navigating life after service.

Every line tells a story. πŸ–ŠοΈ Check out this stunning hand-sketched artwork by Veteran Artist Barry Spicer β€” created exclusively for us to capture the heart of what we do.

Every line tells a story. ✏️

When we set out to build our new website, we knew we wanted artwork that captured the heart of what we do β€” so we commissioned the incredibly talented Veteran Artist, Barry Spicer, to bring it to life by hand.

And wow, did he deliver.

This stunning pencil sketch captures a journey so many of our veterans know all too well β€” arriving with little, unsure of what's next. On one side, a man alone on a bench. On the other, a man walking through an open door.

That door? That's us. That's what we do.

Whether a veteran needs crisis accommodation or a permanent place to call home, we walk alongside them every step of the way β€” from the bench to the doorstep and beyond.
