1 year. 1 Hotel Melbourne 🥂
A year ago, we opened the doors and welcomed Melbourne back to the riverfront.
The site has always been a gathering place. It gathered the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation long before us. It carried almost a century of maritime trade along the Birrarung-Yarra River. Then Goods Shed No. 5 fell silent for fifty years – and now breathes again as a vibrant destination for our city.
Bringing it back to life was never about building something new on top of the old. It was about restoring and revitalising what was already there – and bringing the world’s most sustainable hotel brand home to Australia.
1 year in, we still feel it every time we walk through those doors. That big exhale. That warm embrace of 1 Hotel’s signature hospitality, where luxury and sustainability coexist.
But more than anything, it’s the people. Seeing the community return to the water’s edge – and visitors from around the world come to experience it – is everything we hoped this place could be. 🌿

Celebrating Pride Month | Yesterday our team attended the Property Council of Australia annual DEI Luncheon, joining industry leaders to discuss LGBTQIA+ visibility and leadership pathways.
A particular highlight was seeing our Impact & Marketing Manager and Qu**rs in Property co-founder, Billy Patten (they/them), take the stage as a keynote speaker – sharing their personal story, and how visibility and active allyship let people show up as their authentic selves at work, and that’s what makes leadership possible.

We've officially broken ground on New Epping Medical, a six-storey, state-of-the-art facility at the heart of Melbourne's Northern Health Precinct.
Built by Kane Constructions and anchored by and Lumus Imaging and connecting directly to Northern Private and Public Hospitals, this is the next chapter in an integrated health ecosystem we're proud to be building.
