At Sparkways Early Learning Footscray, we have been exploring the works of Anna Bruder and her interactive art exhibition at the Museum of Modern art in New York, “The A line Florist. Children are invited to select a flower to paint and add it to our wall of paper vases. Interactive art teaches children through participation, movement, collaboration, and hands-on exploration. Unlike traditional art that is simply viewed, interactive art invites children to engage directly with materials, spaces, sounds, light and technology.

What does child safety look like in practice?
It’s in the everyday moments — relationships, connection, and environments where children feel safe, supported and able to be themselves.

It was wonderful to join Mitchell Shire Council, community leaders and partners to celebrate the Greater Beveridge Community Centre expansion and the continued growth of early learning opportunities within the Beveridge community.
Sparkways has proudly operated the kindergarten service at Greater Beveridge since opening in 2019, growing from 50 enrolments across 2 rooms to more than 230 children across 5 rooms in 2026.
The expansion reflects a significant investment in the growing Beveridge community and will support:
• the activation of two additional kindergarten rooms
• the introduction of 20 hours of Pre-Prep for 4-year-olds
• expanded spaces that support children, families and community connection
As Beveridge continues to grow, so too does the importance of creating welcoming, high-quality early learning environments that support children and families to feel connected, confident and ready for the future.
Thank you to Mitchell Shire Council for the invitation and ongoing partnership in supporting children, families and the growing Beveridge community.

Our babies at Sparkways Early Learning Showgrounds enjoyed a wonderful day of hands-on learning and fun!
The children explored a colourful science experiment using water, soap, and food colouring, encouraging curiosity, sensory exploration, and early learning through play.
They also took part in a “Saving the Animals” activity, carefully removing tape to rescue hidden animals while developing fine motor skills, concentration, and hand-eye coordination.
Through play-based learning, our babies continue to build important developmental skills in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. 💛

We loved celebrating Mother’s Day at our Afternoon Tea at Sparkways Early Learning Showgrounds.
Our children were so excited to share this special time with their mums, grandmothers, and special persons — enjoying bracelet making, planting, painting, and gift giving together.
The room was filled with smiles, laughter, creativity, and so much love 💕
Thank you to all the families who joined us and made the day so special.

🎒✨ Building confident transitions to school
Our 4-year-old kindergarten children at Sparkways Early Learning Footscray have begun their regular visits to the local primary school. From exploring playgrounds to discovering the sensory garden, these experiences help build familiarity and confidence in a new environment 🌿
Each child is paired with a Grade 2 buddy and takes part in classroom learning alongside primary students—creating meaningful connections and a strong sense of belonging 💛
These shared experiences play an important role in supporting a smooth and positive transition to school in 2027.

🌿✨ This week at Sparkways Early Learning Showgrounds, the Koala Room children have been busy building, creating, and exploring!
They worked together to design and build a “mega hut,” showing amazing teamwork, problem-solving, spatial awareness, and early engineering skills. So much persistence and shared decision-making on display!
