The first sign that your number plates have been cloned could be an unexpected fine in your inbox.
Or even a knock on the door by your local police.
Don't think it can happen to you?
Unfortunately, it happens to regular people every day.
Advancements in 3D printing technology have enabled crims to reproduce number plates easily.
Once they're attached to a car similar in make, model and colour to yours, there's no way to know it isn't you committing the crimes.
Here are some tips to reduce the possibility of becoming a victim:
🚗 If you are listing a car for sale on any platform, ensure the number plates are blacked out in photos before uploading them.
🚗 If you see anyone in your local area photographing cars, report it to the police immediately.
🚗 Make a report to the police if you receive any fines you know aren't yours and submit an application for new number plates to prevent any new offences from ending up in your name.
