This week, our Year 8 students enjoyed an exciting day at the brand-new Frankston Tech School, participating in a range of hands-on STEM activities that challenged them to think creatively, solve problems and explore emerging technologies.
Throughout the day, students rotated through three engaging workshops:
🎨 Micro Art – designing and printing personalised keychains
🤖 Robotics – using the design process to create and build a small robotic animal
🖥️ 3D CAD Design – interviewing a partner and creating a customised 3D-printed name tag
Experiences such as these help students connect classroom learning with real-world applications while developing valuable skills for the future.
As a partner school, we look forward to co-designing future curriculum opportunities and supporting students with a strong interest in STEM through their ongoing engagement with the Tech School.
Thank you to the staff at Frankston Tech School for providing such an engaging and inspiring opportunity for our students.

The past fortnight has been a busy and exciting time for Performing Arts at Patterson River Secondary College, with students showcasing their talents through our Dance Showcase, Junior Performing Arts Showcase and second-ever Vocal Soirée.
These events provided students with valuable opportunities to perform in front of live audiences, build confidence and further develop their skills. It has been particularly pleasing to see so many junior students getting involved across a range of performing arts disciplines, while our senior students continue to demonstrate the results of their hard work, dedication and passion.
Thank you to the parents, family members and members of our wider community who attended these performances. Your support helps create authentic performance opportunities for our students and plays an important role in encouraging them to pursue their interests and talents.
Thank you also to our Performing Arts staff for their commitment in supporting students both on and behind the stage. Congratulations to every student who performed and contributed to the success of these events.
There is plenty more to come, with Wakakirri rehearsals continuing, the Year 8 Band preparing for upcoming performances, and students already beginning preparations for our Annual Spring Concert.
