Last night we celebrated 🎉 IN STYLE 🎉 as we welcomed our new executive team for 2026-2027! The evening also welcomed a new Member - ALEX. We demonstrated support as a group via the following pledge 📜:
"We, the members of Tropic City Toastmasters Club pledge to support you in your quest for self-development, to provide you with positive and helpful evaluations, to maintain a friendly and supportive atmosphere, to give you opportunities to help others, and to make your Toastmasters membership a rewarding and fulfilling experience."
We enjoyed the company of six guests 👋 last night! If you are keen to learn a little more about what Toastmasters 🎤can offer, you can also visit:

Has this happened to you? You are about to INTRODUCE yourself to a person who can boost your income substantially, a future lover, or a person who could get your foot in the door of the job you always wanted. Your mind races with the best things to say… There are lots of thoughts there and when the moment comes, they start tumbling out in a mix-matched assortment...
Great speakers don’t “wing it” cold. They warm up.
Simple pre-speaking exercises can help you:
✨ Calm your nerves and steady your breath
✨ Loosen tight jaw, neck, and facial muscles
✨ Strengthen voice clarity and projection
✨ Shift into a confident, focused mindset
From breathing techniques to vocal warm-ups and mental resets, these quick routines can transform how you sound — and how you feel — before you even say your first word.
The difference between a shaky start and a powerful opening often comes down to preparation you can do in just minutes. Curious what these exercises actually look like (and how to do them properly)?

On behalf of Tropic City Toastmasters Townsville, we stand with Dot Kelly as she represents our club at the DISTRICT 69, 2026 CONFERENCE.
This conference, held in Stanthorpe, has Dot competing in the Humorous Competition, Evaluations and Table Topics. This is an exciting moment and we wish Dot every success!
Dot is extremely good at thinking on her feet and adding humour to her speeches. She is supported by Desmond Fazldeen and Lorna Fazldeen who also travelled 1457 kms for the event.
Stanthorpe is alive over the next two days with members travelling from all across Queensland to attend. For information about the event agenda, please refer to the following link:
