🐻🇳🇿𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗭𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 | 𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭 & 𝟮🇳🇿🐻

After travelling from Townsville via Sydney, including sharing a flight with the NRL Cowboys team, the boys arrived in Christchurch at 1:30am this morning.

The team spent today exploring Christchurch, learning about the impact of the city’s devastating earthquakes and the resilience shown during its rebuild. They also enjoyed the local markets, great coffee and seafood, historical landmarks, and a trip on the famous Christchurch Gondola, taking in stunning views of the city and surrounding landscapes.

Tomorrow, the boys will complete their captain’s run at Linwood Keas Rugby League Club.

A huge credit to the team for their attitude, behaviour, and willingness to embrace every experience so far. We’re excited for what the rest of the tour has in store!

👏𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞 & 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗛 | 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬👏

2022 Kirwan State High School graduate, Mia, has found her place with the NEM Group.

After graduating, Mia transitioned straight into the workforce, taking on a variety of roles and building valuable skills and experience through her own hard work, determination and dedication.

With Link and Launch support available to graduates for up to three years after finishing school, Mia remained eligible to access additional guidance and support. In March 2025, Mia connected with our Link and Launch Coordinator to explore new opportunities and pathways.

Through the strong partnership between Kirwan State High School and NEM Group, an exciting opportunity emerged. Thanks to great networking and Mia's readiness to take the next step, she was able to seize the opportunity when it arose.

Today, Mia is thriving in a full-time administration role with NEM Group, where she is continuing to learn, grow and develop her career in a supportive and positive environment.
Congratulations, Mia, on this fantastic achievement. We are incredibly proud of you and all that you have accomplished.

🏉 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗖𝗛 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣𝗦 🏉

Over the weekend, Kirwan High students Truant, Jacob, Diaz, Levi and Montana represented North Queensland at the State Touch Football Championships.

Both the boys' and girls' teams had strong tournaments, finishing third after the pool rounds and progressing through to the finals.

⭐ The girls went on to win the Plate Final, showcasing great teamwork and determination throughout the competition.

⭐ The boys finished runners-up in the Trophy Final after a closely contested match.

A special congratulations to Diaz and Levi, who have been selected in the Queensland team and will compete at the National Titles later this year.

Well done to all students involved on their efforts and the way they represented North Queensland and Kirwan High throughout the championship. These students will now turn their focus to the upcoming All Schools Touch Competition!

Congratulations to our Vivace Strings ensemble on progressing to the Regional Finals of the NQ Instrumental Fanfare!

We invite our school community to come along and support these talented musicians as they perform at the Final Concert on Friday 19 June from 5:00pm–9:00pm at the Denise Glasgow Performing Arts Centre, Pimlico State High School.

Kirwan High will be performing in Session 2.

Congratulations to our Kirwan Titans who proudly represented Kirwan State High School at the NQ Volleyball Schools Cup.

The team demonstrated great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition, competing strongly against schools from across North Queensland.
