What a fantastic celebration of success at our school during this week’s Special Assembly!

Congratulations to all our award winners — so many superstar efforts were recognised across our classrooms. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes demonstrated by our students.

A special mention goes to our talented Convict Jellyfish performers, who entertained us with an amazing rendition of 'Bound for Botany Bay'. Their enthusiasm and performance skills were truly outstanding.

We were also delighted to celebrate one of our exceptional teachers, Miss Murray, who received recognition from Karen Brown, the Director of Education Leadership, for her outstanding leadership in implementing evidence-informed literacy practices. Her efforts have significantly enhanced teaching, learning, and assessment across the curriculum at Windang Public School. This well-deserved achievement makes us immensely proud to have her as part of our school community.

The Dolphins were the class of the day, exemplifying exceptional Windang values throughout the assembly. As a reward for their efforts, they will host Sheldon until the next Special Assembly and enjoy some extra playtime.

Finally, a huge thank you to our Year 6 team for leading such a wonderful assembly. Your confidence, organisation, and leadership shone through — you did an amazing job.

Well done, everyone, on another great week of learning, leadership, and achievement!

Congratulations to Miss Candice Murray on receiving the Director Educational Leadership Award at this week's special assembly.

Miss Murray has been instrumental in strengthening the teaching of reading, writing, spelling, comprehension and vocabulary at our school.

Through her leadership, she has enhanced teacher expertise, improved student outcomes and helped establish Windang PS as a leading school in literacy education.

Highly regarded for her knowledge and professionalism, Miss Murray regularly hosts visiting schools at Windang PS and is frequently invited to schools across NSW to share her expertise, deliver professional learning and support teachers to improve outcomes for their students.

This award is a fitting recognition of Miss Murray’s dedication, expertise and outstanding contribution to public education.

Today, K Dolphins welcomed a very special visitor – Spot! Spot spent the day experiencing life as a kindergartener. What a perfect day to visit, as we were heading to the theatre to watch Spot – Live on Stage.

After our exciting adventure, the clever Dolphins worked together to reflect on Spot’s visit and collaborated to write about the wonderful day they shared with their furry friend.
