They once stood as children whose lives were shaped by displacement.

Today, they stand together at the highest level of the game.

UNHCR’s Gamechanging Team brings them together ahead of the 2026 , highlighting what can happen when children forced to flee are given safety and opportunity.

Eleven players. Eleven stories. One message.

We were pleased to welcome Dominique Kuhling, Director for Asia & Oceania at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.

She met refugee students, observed protection and sports activities, and heard directly from refugees about their daily realities. 🇳🇱🇧🇩💙

Young people have the power to shape narratives.

Last weekend, 20 students from five universities across Bangladesh joined the first sessions of a workshop on mobile filmmaking, organized by UNHCR and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) through a collaboration for the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival - DIMFF and the theme Forced to Flee.

By combining filmmaking skills with discussions on refugee protection and ethical storytelling, we aim to support a new generation of storytellers in creating informed, empathetic, and human-centred narratives about displacement.

Over the coming weeks, participants will develop scripts and short films that explore the themes of identity, belonging, dignity, and hope.

Water is life. 💧

Through the support of the Bangladesh Humanitarian Fund, we are able to ensure 220,000 Rohingya refugees can access clean water to drink, cook, and care for their families.

A basic necessity. A powerful source of dignity and hope. 💙
