⚽ As Alianza winds down its victory lap, the drumbeats of Recruitment continue to roar through the halls of BUCSC! 🖤

On 15th and 16th of June, the vibrant BracU campus was illuminated with the theme, "Alianza." ⚽

It was a declaration, a celebration of the spirit of 'One Team, One Dream'. And above all, it was a campfire around which people sharing the same goals could sit together and begin new journeys. It was a festival of dreams! ✨

Over these two days, we were flooded with the endless enthusiasm of the students who shared our dream of striving towards a better world. Priceless memories were created as we shared our projects, works, aims, achievements and initiatives with them. As we forged bonds that would last lifetimes, we were once again reminded of the adage - "United we stand, divided we fall!" 🦋 💖 💪

And now, Alianza has wrapped up and the curtains have closed on a memorable club fair. But your chance to join BUCSC and make a meaningful difference in the community isn't over yet. You still have time! 📢

Abu Huraira narrated that the Prophet(PBUH) said:
“ The most virtuous fasting after the month of Ramadan is that of Allah’s month of Al-Muharram. And the most virtuous Salat after the obligatory is the night prayer.” [Hadith,Tirmidhi]

Muharram is not only the month that marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year, but it also holds great significance for the Ummah. The Holy Quran has mentioned Muharram as one of the four sacred months of the Islamic Calender, thereby encouraging Muslims to bring themselves closer to Allah through worship and self-reflection. Muharram also has a historical significance as it marks the emigration of Muslims from Makkah to Medina and the establishment of the first Islamic State in 622CE.

As we begin the new year, the BRAC University Community Service Club (BUCSC) urges everyone to reflect on faith and unity. Let us take the opportunity to practice virtue and serve our community with pure intentions, starting from this holy month.

May this new chapter for the Ummah bring peace and blessings to everyone around us.

It is within the verdant womb of this evergreen planet, that our ancestors had made their home. And yet, we now find ourselves looking at a home being invaded, eroded, by increasing streaks of grey. Ravaged, by the endless hunger of the industrial complex. By our humane greed. And so, the Mother finds herself staring back, horrified, at the hungry eyes of her own children. At the desertification of her own lands. At the widespread suffering brought on by droughts, by lands ravaged of their very fertility. All, by human hands.

And at current trends, almost 700 million people are expected to be displaced by 2050. Millions, without food, without shelter, without water. Millions, sentenced to a slow, painful death. But, it need not be so.

On this World Day to Combat Desertification (June 17), Brac University Community Service Club, reminds everyone that the fight against the horrors of desertification is not a foregone conclusion. We can still act. We can still:
Manage overgrazing
Practice better land management
Practice better irrigation methods
Plant more trees to ensure sufficient reforestation
We can still save this planet. And millions of lives.

This semester, BRAC University Community Service Club I BUCSC presents Club Fair Summer 2026, “Alianza”, celebrating the global passion for football. Just as football brings people from different backgrounds together under one passion; BUCSC believes in the power of unity, teamwork, and shared purpose. Inspired by these values, we invite you to be a part of something greater than yourself.

We are looking for a dedicated team of recruits who want to innovate, create, and give back to society. We believe in lifting each other up through unexpected times, bringing smiles to people's faces, and spreading kindness. Together, we are whole.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫

Children are the backbone of our future. Their safety, comfort, health and education are our responsibility.

And yet, we have failed. Child labor is an everyday occurrence in Bangladesh, unbarred by concepts such as space or time. According to a recent survey, approximately 1.78 million children (ages 5–17) are engaged in child labour in Bangladesh, constituting about 4.4% of the nation's child population. Their hopes and dreams, their very innocence, serving as mere fumes for the engine of an uncaring, unjust world. A world that allows these atrocities to pass with a chilling indifference. A world that watches on, as years, lives are reduced to mere kindling. Mere statistics. But does it have to be this way?

On this World Day Against Child Labour (June 12), we, the BRAC University Community Service Club I BUCSC, stand together to raise awareness for every child's right to a safe, healthy, and educated future. Let us work together to protect our children, end child labour, and build a brighter tomorrow for the next generation.

The ocean covers more than 70% of our earth. It produces almost half of the oxygen we breathe in, regulates the climate of earth and facilitates the nutrition of billions of people. All the while containing and nurturing an almost infinitely diverse biosystem within its womb. Truly, the mysteries lying deep beneath the surface make us wonder how much of the world we have actually explored.

Yet every day, we, as a species, choose to harm this endlessly benevolent repository of nature . The increased plastic pollution, the rising temperature and global warming, are but reflections of our own callous disregard. A roaring tide of atrocities, that threaten to submerge the ocean itself. And isn't it high time, we stopped enabling such ingratitude?

On this World Ocean Day (June 8), Brac University Community Service Club (BUCSC), reminds everyone that we can repair the damage by integrating small and consistent habits into our daily lifestyle.

At BRAC University Community Service Club (BUCSC), we believe that awareness and education can help build healthier communities.

World Food Safety Day is a reminder that safe food is essential for health, well-being, and a sustainable future. Every step in the food chain matters, and ensuring food safety is a shared responsibility.

Together, let us promote safe food practices and work towards a future where everyone has access to safe and nutritious food.

These words hit especially close to home, since the broader climate crisis and pollution are causing our ecosystems to collapse. Because we have gotten too used to taking the Earth for granted, to taking these rivers, forests and air for granted. We have forgotten that we are not the only species to call this magnificent planet our home.

But it’s not too late. This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲, our community of young volunteers refuse to let everything die. Help us, 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 (𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐒𝐂), in proving that we can still restore our land with unity and persistence.

This June 5th, let community service be our weapon in fighting this battle against climate change. Mother Earth is waiting to be saved.
