“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear.”

I'd be happy to help, but this question is a bit different from the 9/11 memorial content you usually ask me to rewrite.
Those yellow and black striped markings on building edges are typically safety striping — they're high-visibility paint applied to exposed structural edges, columns, and ledges on the exterior of buildings. They serve a practical safety purpose: making potentially dangerous edges or obstacles more visible to workers, pedestrians, and during construction or maintenance operations.
If you're looking for a rewrite of this as a piece of text (maybe for social media or educational content), I'm happy to do that in your preferred style. Just let me know what version you'd like me to work from, or I can create something from scratch.
Is there something specific about this topic you'd like me to rewrite, or were you just curious about what those markings are?

DNA technology has advanced.
Three more victims from the Twin Towers have been identified.
Decades after the attacks, the work continues.
Families finally have answers.
The dead are named.

Frank Naglieri served the FDNY for 43 years.
The longest-serving firefighter in New York City Fire Department history.
Battalion Chief in the Bronx.
On September 11, 2001, he responded to the World Trade Center.
His leadership steadied operations in the aftermath.
He continued the work—training, preparing others, honoring those lost.
Even after retirement, he remained part of the fire service.
Joint exercises with military units. Drills. Readiness. Safety.
He taught the next generation.
A lifetime of service.
A life in uniform.

The upper portion disintegrated.
Much of the debris came from above the impact zone—the top half of the tower scattered across lower Manhattan.
Steel and concrete and glass were thrown with such force that they crossed West Street.
They crossed Church Street.
The distance the debris traveled speaks to the violence of the collapse.
The upper floors simply did not survive intact.

The steel burned for fifty-six minutes.
Fires spread across the 80th floor.
The South Tower weakened.
Then it fell.
This is what those final moments looked like.

9:02 AM.
The South Tower still stood.
Sixty seconds remained.

The Twin Towers were designed to withstand a Boeing 707 at landing speed.
American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were Boeing 767s.
They were twice as heavy as that 707.
They carried twice the fuel.
They were traveling far faster than landing speed.
The buildings were struck by aircraft they were never built to endure.

343 Firefighters.
September 11, 2001.
They ran toward the towers while others ran out. They climbed the stairwells. They helped people escape. They saved lives.
All 343 were killed in the collapse.
We remember them.

Chief Peter Ganci Jr.
33 years with the FDNY. Chief of Department. The highest-ranking uniformed officer in the fire department.
September 11, 2001. 8:46 a.m. The North Tower was struck. Chief Ganci rushed from Brooklyn and arrived in under ten minutes.
9:59 a.m. The South Tower partially collapsed. Chief Ganci and others were trapped in the basement. They dug themselves out and continued.
He established a command post. He directed evacuations. When ordered to leave, he refused.
"I'm not leaving my men."
10:28 a.m. The North Tower collapsed. Chief Ganci was killed alongside William Feehan, FDNY First Deputy Commissioner.
Chief Ganci never asked his men to do what he wouldn't do himself. He led from the front.
His legacy continues. The FDNY Medal of Valor — the highest award for bravery — was renamed in his honor. His two sons followed him into the FDNY.

Moments apart. September 11, 2001.
Photos showing the attacks as they unfolded at the World Trade Center.
