On 9 June 2026, the Embassy of Nepal in Bahrain hosted a Nepal tourism reception in Manama to celebrate International Sagarmatha (Everest) Day. The event aimed at promoting Nepal’s adventure and mountain tourism and showcasing its rich cultural diversity. His Excellency Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Acting Undersecretary for Political Affairs and Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was the Guest of Honour at the event. Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle delivered a welcome remark highlighting components and connections of mountain tourism in Nepal-Bahrain relations. Bahraini adventurer and motivational speaker Mohamed Isa captivated the audience with a presentation about his recent journeys and first-hand experiences in Nepal. The programme featured presentation of Everest region destination video provided by Nepal Tourism Board as well as cultural presentation and performance of the traditional Panche Baja coordinated by Nepali community in Bahrain.

On 8 June 2026, Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle met with H.E. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Acting Undersecretary for Political Affairs and Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, discussions covered matters of mutual interest, including the bilateral consultation mechanism and cooperation in the tourism sector.

Earlier, on 7 June 2026, Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle had a meeting with H.E. Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Discussions were held on bilateral relations, legal and labour awareness activities.
