The Agassiz Fire Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community.
Because of your overwhelming generosity during this year’s food drive, we were able to donate:
➡️ 6,421 lbs of food
➡️ $6,671.60 in financial support
These contributions directly support families in need this holiday season, and we are incredibly grateful to serve such a giving community.
A big thank you as well to all the incredible volunteers who helped make the evening possible, including our friends at Kent/Harrison SAR and BC Ambulance who came out to support the event. Your dedication and teamwork make a real difference.
Thank you, Agassiz!

Reminder: It’s that time of year again! Tonight, December 2, starting at 5:00 PM members of local emergency response groups and many volunteers will be hitting the roads to go door to door looking for donations for the annual food drive!
We will be collecting:
• Non-perishable, non-expired food items
• Cash donations, which ago a long way in helping the Food Bank purchase fresh, high -need items!
Firefighters would appreciate if donations could be left outside at the front door to expedite the neighborhood canvassing. Donations can also be dropped off at the Fire Hall located at 7652 Industrial Way, Agassiz. All donations will go to the local Agassiz Harrison Community Services Food Bank to directly help our community. Your generosity makes a meaningful impact for local families during the holiday season. Thank you for supporting our community.

A huge thank you to the Agassiz-Harrison Lions Club for their incredible $40,000 donation toward a Wildland Truck! Your continued support helps keep our community safe.
Agassiz Fire Department Visits the Lions Club 🦁🚒
At our recent meeting, we were honoured to welcome Fire Chief Gerald Basten from the Agassiz Fire Department (AFD), who presented an exciting and important community project.
The AFD is seeking support to help fundraise for a Type 6 Wildland Fire Unit — a specialized firefighting vehicle designed to respond quickly to wildfires in rural and off-road areas. With wildfire risks increasing due to climate change and growing rural development, this unit would play a critical role in helping protect our community and surrounding areas.
This initiative continues a long and proud history between the Lions Club and the Agassiz Fire Department — from contributing to the Kent Harrison Rescue Squad in 1984 to funding vital rescue equipment in 2001.
Once again, the Lions are proud to be among the community partners, stepping forward to help strengthen local emergency response and safety with a $40,000 DONATION! 💛🔥

Anything with a lithium-ion battery—phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools—can become a fire hazard if it’s not charged safely. Always use the charger that came with the device or one approved by the manufacturer. If the cord only works when you bend it just right, it’s time to replace it. Charge any lithium-ion battery device on a hard surface—never on your bed, couch, or under a pillow. And don’t overcharge. Once it’s at 100%, unplug and move on. Charge Into Fire Safety for Fire Prevention Week.
