The RM of Moose Creek No. 33 Staff and Council would like to congratulate Kirk Brooks on his retirement today!! Kirk has completed 30 years of service to the RM, and should be very proud of this accomplishment.
Kirk was hired as a seasonal grader operator on April 1, 1996. His wage was set at $12.00/hour and after his probation he was given a $1.00/hour raise. He worked with then foreman Randy Peet. He learned lots from Randy and thought he was a good foreman. When Randy first taught him how to grade, he took him out in the grader showed him how to grade one mile, and then left him out there to figure it out. When Kirk was given full time work, his job was to stockpile gravel in the winter months, and Shirley Warner had the job of pushing the pile using the small old ford tractor that is currently owned by corner gas. Kirk was hired as foreman on September 11, 2007.
Kirk’s proudest moment from the past 30 years was the construction of the new RM shop. He was very proud that he contributed to the design decisions.
Kirk said the thing he will miss the most about his career at the RM is the inside and outside staff he worked with over the years. Kirk said he will miss winter storms the least.
Kirk plans on spending his time on his motorcycle, fishing, and babysitting his grand-girls.
Best of luck to Kirk in all of his future endeavours, you will be missed!!
