Don’t be like these people!
One of our officers recently stopped a vehicle where a ratchet strap was being used as a seatbelt because the actual seatbelt wasn’t working. Creative? Sure. Safe? Not even close. We’ll give them an A for creativity, but an F for following basic safety rules.
The driver was ticketed for operating a vehicle with an inoperative seatbelt, and the passenger was ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt. Not quite the kind of “restraint system” we’re looking for.

A reminder to the public: when you fly drones near a wildfire, all aerial response must stop. Anyone found interfering with wildfire control efforts (including flying drones or UAVs) can face penalties up to $100,000 and/or up to one year in jail.
Transport Canada and the BC Wildfire Service explicitly prohibit the use of UAVs or drones of any size near a wildfire. The restricted airspace automatically includes a radius of five nautical miles around any smoke or fire and to an altitude of 3,000 feet above ground level.

Happy Easter!
Looks like someone forgot the speed limit when trying to make an ‘’eggspress’’ delivery! Clocked over the speed limit, the bunny claimed he was ‘’running late for egg drops across the province’’.
While we appreciate the commitment to punctuality, let this be a reminder that nobunny is above the law, and no matter how important the delivery, road safety always comes first!
The Easter Bunny was let off with a warning and a firm reminder to hop within the limits.
Stay safe, and enjoy the long weekend responsibly!
