Dufferin County - Notice of Construction
Road Resurfacing of Dufferin County Road 10 beginning June 2026
The project is the resurfacing of approximately 9.8 km of Dufferin County Road 10, between Grand Valley (County Road 25) and County Road 12 in Amaranth.
Scope of Work
The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to:
• Replacement of various road cross and driveway culverts
• Localized ditching and topsoil restoration
• Pulverizing the existing asphalt roadway
• Placement of additional granular material within road platform to strengthen the road base
• Placement of new base and surface asphalt
• Placement of new shoulder gravel
• Line painting
Project Schedule
The project is expected to begin in late June and is expected to continue through until early fall. Construction activity will take place Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Traffic Impact and Road Closures
One lane of traffic will be maintained on Dufferin County Road 10 throughout the project. Full road closures are not anticipated, however may be required under the unlikely circumstance where maintaining through traffic is not practical.
Access to your home and/or business will be maintained at all times throughout the duration of the project. Access may be temporarily restricted during the replacement of entrance culverts. Our contractor, Cox Construction Ltd., will correspond with each residence/business prior to removal of existing driveway culverts to determine an appropriate time to complete the work.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Please let us know if you have any specific requirements for access to your property.
Utilities and Services
All utilities and services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Parking
During the project, we request that you do not park your vehicles on the roadside shoulders as this may interfere with construction activities.
Construction Layout
Please be advised that over the coming weeks, Dufferin County staff will be installing wooden stakes near the gravel shoulder, within the ditches, and around existing entrances with proposed culvert replacements. Please do not disturb or remove these stakes as they provide layout for our contractor to complete the proposed works.

Credit Valley Conservation Flood Watch Message #1 - June 18, 2026
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is upgrading its active flood outlook statement to flood watch. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has continued yesterday’s special weather statement into today, advising additional heavy rainfall with amounts between 5 and 15 mm, and a continued risk of thunderstorms.
CVC’s middle and lower watershed have already received local rainfall amounts between 50 and 70 mm. Soil in the watershed is currently saturated and water levels of the Credit River and Lake Ontario tributaries are elevated and continue to rise. This has resulted in local flooding of the Lower Main Credit River through Mississauga, specifically Streetsville and Mississaugua Golf and Country Club, as well as Silver Creek at 8th Line and Loylaist Creek at 5th Line. Localized flooding risk will continue, especially if the forecast thunderstorms develop.
Urban streams and rivers may be dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges, and dams. People are warned to stay away from all watercourses and to keep children and pets away.
CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed. The Flood Watch will be in effect through Thursday June 18th, or until further notice.
To view current watershed conditions, visit our real-time monitoring website.
