Did you know that magical creatures inhabit the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens? Faeries LOVE making their summer homes in the Gardens, and occasionally some pesky gnomes visit and cause a bit of mayhem. Our young visitors really enjoy finding signs of these magical creatures, and imagining what life is like for the wee folk!

Calsap is another of our favourite rhodos. Its markings are fabulous, as seen in this shot taken after a recent rainfall.

After the rain... this is a lovely rhododendron named 'Anna Muntz', one of many bred in Clementsport, NS by Alex Muntz. After Alex died in 2001, his rhodos were moved to various gardens where they could be cared for and appreciated, including the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. She is a favourite!

We had some much needed rain overnight, and now it's a lovely cloudy day with the sun poking through from time to time. We may still get a shower or two, but that's OK - the flowers are rejoicing!

Looking Back... our gardeners have started planting annuals around the Gardens, including in our Victorian Garden (which was ever-so-thankful for last night's rain). The other two photos show the VERY FIRST planting of the Victorian Garden in 1981, 45 years ago. Wow!

The tradition of Prom Photos in the Gardens goes back several decades. We had just over 400 people in the Gardens this evening - grads, siblings, parents, grandparents, friends... what a night!
Thanks to the AWEC Class of 2026 for making the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens part of their graduation celebrations.
