Public Notice - Bay Street Project:

Construction on the Bay Street Project continues for the section of East Main Street between Haley Road and Adam Street.

Beginning Monday, June 22, traffic control will be in place each evening starting at 7 p.m. and will remain in effect overnight until 8 a.m. These nightly traffic measures will continue throughout the week and will conclude Friday morning.

The Town apologizes for any inconveniences this work may cause and appreciates your patience as we work to finish this project.

Public Notice - West Street Project, Phase Two:

Work continues on the section of West Street from the roundabout to the intersection at James Street and Convocation Blvd.

The full detour will remain in place from Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

For this week, the road is expected to reopen when work wraps up in the evening, usually around 7:00 p.m.

The Antigonish Area Fire & Rescue Training Centre is hosting an open house tomorrow, Saturday, June 20 at the Beech Hill Fire Hall from 12 to 4 p.m. There will be lots of fun for the whole family and all donations and proceeds go towards the new training centre!

If you’re spotted by our By-Law Officers wearing a helmet while biking, scootering, skateboarding or rollerblading in Town, you could be recognized with a Helmet Safety Award that will get you a free kid’s cone at Dairy Queen!

Last night, members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 were proudly recognized at the Town Council meeting with a certificate commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion.

This year is a celebration of a century of dedication to Veterans, community strength, and remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to all members of the Legion, past and present, here in Antigonish and across the country, for your unwavering service, dedication, and commitment over the past 100 years. Congratulations on this incredible milestone.
