πŸ’§ What is Make Water Work?

The City of Armstrong is proud to support Make Water Work, a water conservation campaign led by the Okanagan Basin Water Board that helps residents create beautiful, resilient landscapes while using water wisely.

The Okanagan is on the front lines of climate change, experiencing both drought and flooding, along with increasingly severe wildfire seasons. Make Water Work encourages practical water-saving habits and drought-resilient landscaping that help protect our water supply for future generations.

Did you know?
πŸ’§ There is less water available per person in the Okanagan than anywhere else in Canada.
πŸ’§ The Okanagan has one of the highest rates of water use per person in Canada.
πŸ’§ Lawn and garden watering is the second-largest use of water in the Okanagan.

Take the pledge today and choose Armstrong as your community:

Planning an event, display, or activity on City property?

Using a City sidewalk, road, boulevard, or other public space requires a permit from the City.

Permits help ensure:

βœ… Public safety
βœ… Accessibility for all users
βœ… Emergency vehicle access
βœ… Protection of City infrastructure
βœ… Appropriate insurance and liability coverage

Activities such as special events, community gatherings, sidewalk patios, temporary road closures, vendor events, and the placement of tents or other structures require approval from the City.

If you're planning to use public property, contact City Hall early in the planning process. Our goal is to help make your event or activity safe, successful, and enjoyable for everyone.
