The City of Armstrong's street sweeping contractor will be sweeping roads throughout the community from June 22β26, 2026.
Help crews do the best job by:

The City of Armstrong is proud to support Make Water Work, a water conservation campaign led by the Okanagan Basin Water Board that helps residents create beautiful, resilient landscapes while using water wisely.
The Okanagan is on the front lines of climate change, experiencing both drought and flooding, along with increasingly severe wildfire seasons. Make Water Work encourages practical water-saving habits and drought-resilient landscaping that help protect our water supply for future generations.

Please be advised that Smith Drive, between Smith Road and Fletcher Avenue, will be temporarily closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, while BC Hydro completes service installation work.

π Location: Smith Drive (between Smith Road and Fletcher Avenue)
During this time, access will be limited to local traffic and emergency vehicles only.
Motorists are asked to plan ahead, use alternate routes where possible, and follow all traffic control personnel and signage in the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work is completed.

Permits help ensure:

Appropriate insurance and liability coverage
Activities such as special events, community gatherings, sidewalk patios, temporary road closures, vendor events, and the placement of tents or other structures require approval from the City.

Downtown Parking is Available During Construction!
As work continues on Pleasant Valley Boulevard North, there are still several convenient public parking options available throughout downtown Armstrong.
Available parking locations include:
βοΈ Wood Avenue City Public Parking Lot
βοΈ Pleasant Valley Boulevard South City Public Parking Lot
βοΈ On-street parking along Patterson Avenue
βοΈ On-street parking along Pleasant Valley Road between Okanagan Street and Bridge Street
βοΈ On-street parking along Okanagan Street from Wood Avenue to Patterson Avenue
βοΈOn-street parking along Pleasant Valley Boulevard North
We're also preparing the former City Hall parking lot for temporary public parking. More information will be shared once it's ready.
All downtown businesses remain open and appreciate your continued support during construction.

Stage 2 Water Restrictions Effective June 4, 2026 at 12 p.m.
Effective 12 p.m., June 4, 2026, the City of Armstrong has activated Stage 2 Water Conservation Restrictions in response to the Provincial Drought Rating for our region.
Stage 2 restrictions help reduce overall water demand and support the responsible management of community water resources during dry conditions.

Watering Schedule
πΉ Addresses ending in 00β49: Tuesdays & Saturdays
πΉ Addresses ending in 50β99: Mondays & Wednesdays
β° Irrigation Times
β’ Manual irrigation: 6 p.m. β 10 a.m. on designated days
β’ Automated irrigation: 10 p.m. β 6 a.m. (maximum 3 hours) on designated days
πΏ Handheld watering with a shut-off nozzle is permitted at any time.
These restrictions apply to all City of Armstrong water customers, including residents in the Pleasant Valley, Round Prairie, Highland Park, Stardell, Silver Star, and Lansdowne Local Area Services, as well as Spallumcheen residents receiving City water.
