Jun 1, 2026,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to share information about Hope Air, a national charitable organization that helps Canadians access essential medical care by removing financial and geographic barriers to travel.
Hope Air provides free air travel and travel support for eligible patients who must leave their home communities to receive medically necessary treatment that is not available locally. Their services are available to individuals across British Columbia, including residents in rural and underserved communities.
✈️ Key Hope Air Programs (BC)
Medical Travel Flights: Free flights for patients (and approved escorts) to access non-emergency medical care
Travel Support: Assistance with ground transportation, and meal vouchers
Northern & Remote Access: Expanded support for individuals in remote regions with limited healthcare access
Financial Eligibility: Designed for individuals and families experiencing financial barriers
Hope Air works closely with social workers, community agencies, and healthcare providers to coordinate travel and ensure clients can attend critical appointments such as specialist consultations, diagnostics, surgery, and follow-up care.
Given your organization’s important role in supporting clients in your community, I wanted to ensure you are aware of this resource. Hope Air may be particularly helpful for individuals facing financial hardship, transportation challenges, or complex healthcare needs requiring travel outside the region.
📌 How to Refer or Apply
Referrals and applications can be completed online through Hope Air’s website or with the support of a service provider. Applications are typically straightforward, and decisions are made based on medical necessity and financial need.
If helpful, I would be glad to connect further or assist with referrals for any clients who could benefit from this program.
Thank you for the essential work you do in supporting our community.
Sincerely,
Tammy Tait
