Too much of what we grow is processed elsewhere, and too many Canadians still rely on imported food at higher prices.

Our new National Food Security Strategy will help farms grow and process more in Canada, lowering costs, creating jobs, and building a more resilient food system.

It has been a privilege to work alongside Sir Keir Starmer as he has led international efforts to support Ukraine through the Coalition of the Willing, strengthen NATO, improve Arctic cooperation, and deepen the historic partnership between Canada and the United Kingdom.

Throughout, and in the face of exceptional challenges, Keir has acted with principle, determination, and collaboration. The world is safer and allies are more united because of his efforts.

Keir, thank you for your lifetime of public service. I am grateful for your friendship, and I wish you all the best as you concentrate on your "most important job.”

Does Mr Poilievre ever care to read carefully anything before he comments on it? 😒

"K'omoks First Nation Chief Coun. Nicole Rempel said the Conservative leader's description of the treaty isn't accurate.

"If Mr. Poilievre had taken the time to read the treaty in full rather than just the talking points, I think he would have a better grasp of the treaty and what it means," she said.

"To that extent, K'omoks is a little disappointed that he is making these comments without having reached out to K'omoks First Nation."

First Nations opposed to K'omoks, Kitselas treaty bills prepared for litigation: UBCIC

She said the treaty doesn't involve private property, beyond land already purchased by the nation. To say otherwise, Rempel said, is "feeding the fear and racism" about reconciliation for political gain. "

This week, our Liberal government delivered on our promise to make bail harder to get for repeat and violent offenders and sentencing laws tougher for serious crimes.

We’re supporting frontline law enforcement, investing in long-term prevention, and building safer communities.

Canadian farmers deserve more options to sell their produce, and Canadians deserve more options for where to buy their food.

This is just the beginning.

Because we joined the EU’s SAFE pact, more Canadian businesses will have new opportunities to build defence equipment for our Allies.

The funniest part of Conservative politics right now is that Justin Trudeau left the stage and somehow got more stage time.

According to Le Devoir, since Trudeau’s departure, the Conservative Party has mentioned him 688 times in the House of Commons. Pierre Poilievre apparently led the pack with 54 mentions as of May 1, 2026.

That is a lot of free rent for a retired prime minister.

This is not just a joke about obsession. It is a strategy problem.

For years, the Conservative machine was built around one very convenient villain. Trudeau was the brand, the foil, the fundraising email, the rally line, the YouTube thumbnail, the answer to every bill and every broken sidewalk in the country. That worked for a while because people were tired of him. Nine years in power will do that to any government.

But politics has a shelf life.

Trudeau resigned. Mark Carney took over. The 2025 election happened. Poilievre lost Carleton, even as Conservatives gained seats nationally and stayed as the Official Opposition. Then he came back through Battle River-Crowfoot.

That should have forced a reset.

Instead, too much of the Conservative message still sounds like it was written for the last fight. Trudeau is no longer the person signing orders, setting cabinet direction, managing the U.S. file, or steering the budget. Carney is.

If you want to beat Carney, you have to make the case against Carney.

That means inflation policy, housing supply, defence spending, pipelines, trade with Trump’s America, immigration levels, procurement, crime, and whether Ottawa can actually build anything on time.

Real files. Current files. Hard files.

Mentioning Trudeau 688 times may keep the base warm. It may even raise money. But it also tells swing voters something unhelpful: the opposition is still arguing with a ghost while the government is making decisions in real time.

Canada does not need nostalgia in a blue suit.

It needs an opposition that can prosecute the present.
